Anger surged in Celeste; she snatched the peach from Liam’s hand, threw it back hard, and said coldly, “I don’t want it anymore!”
She then dragged Liam out of the fruit store.
Outside, the rain was heavy, and the wind was strong.
They were soaked as soon as they stepped out of the door.
Celeste immediately regretted her impulsiveness. Why did she have to be so stubborn at this moment?

Celeste was stunned for a moment and somewhat touched. She asked, “I have a lot of metal on me; aren’t you afraid of being struck by lightning if you’re with me?” Liam looked down at her, “Do you want to hear the perfect answer or the real answer?”
Celeste was puzzled, so she said, “Give me the real answer first.”
Liam said, “There are many tall buildings around us. When lightning forms, it will first induce charges at the top of these buildings. This charge is much higher than that on the ground, so it attracts lightning easily. And these buildings are usually equipped with lightning rods, which will lead the lightning into the ground. So, we’re unlikely to get struck.”
Celeste fell silent.
This was indeed a real answer and an accurate assessment of the danger from Liam.
It was so real that she didn’t want to deal with him anymore.
Liam moved closer, “Don’t you want to hear the perfect answer?”
Celeste replied unhappily, “Is it necessary?”
“Just give it a try, I’ve thought about it for a long time.”
Celeste, annoyed by his persistence, casually asked, “Alright, what’s your perfect answer?”
Liam smiled, leaned closer to her ear, and said word for word, “Then, I’ll live and die with you.” Celeste was taken aback; she turned to look at him.
Liam was looking at her; his hair was disheveled and wet from the rain and stuck to his forehead.
No one could look good in such a situation.
She had seen Liam looking proud and full of spirit a lot of times, but rarely this messy.
But even in this mess, his eyes were still bright like stars.
Out of all his features, his eyes were the most beautiful.
His eyes were deep and mysterious, stern when he wasn’t smiling but charming and noble when he smiled.
When he said “Live and die with you,” he looked like a god who had given up his status for love.
Seeing his eyes, Celeste’s heart pounded. She looked away and coughed, “That’s not the best answer.”
Liam frowned, “Is there a better answer?”
Celeste chuckled softly, “Your perfect answer would be, if lightning strikes, you will be hit first, and I will be safe.”
Liam was silent for a moment.
“That’s not a perfect answer; it’s just a perfunctory answer.”
