Everyone’s questions came one after another, covering all sorts of topics.
Some asked about her emotional status, others about her relationship with Sydney.
Having played mind games with Skyler for years, Celeste was always watertight in her answers.
Mason kept an eye on the time, and after ten minutes, he reminded her, “It’s time to go.”
Only then did Celeste say. “I’m sorry, that’s all for today. I’ll give more answers later.”
Although the reporters were disappointed, they still let her through.

Liam sat in the car behind them, watching the scene in a bad mood.

Mason smiled, “I didn’t work for free; I took your money, so I was doing my job.”

Mason taking her case actually didn’t make much money.

Smaller cases like this were time–consuming and energy–consuming and were rarely accepted.
Mason taking it was purely a favor.
After winning the case, Celeste felt much better and asked, “How about we have dinner together? What do you feel like eating?”
Driving the car, Mason gently said, “I’m good with anything. It depends on what you want to eat.”
“Let’s have something nice, huh?” Celeste squinted her eyes, “How about a cheeseburger?”
Mason also grinned, “Is that what you call nice?”
Celeste said, “I’m usually super strict with my carbs during work, so for me, this is a treat”
Hearing her say that, Mason responded, “Alright then.”
The traffic light ahead turned red, and just as Mason hit the brakes, there was a loud “bang” from behind, as something crashed into them, causing his car to skid forward uncontrollably for half a meter.
Celeste furrowed her brows and looked back.
In the rearview mirror, all they could see was a silver–gray sedan.
