Trisha thought Celeste wouldn’t be upset, but when she got up for a drink at night, she heard sobbing coming from the living room.

Liam loosened his tie and looked at the entrance, Celeste’s stuff hadn’t changed much since he left, as if she hadn’t touched it.
Frowning, he asked, “Hasn’t she come home recently?”
“No, two days after you left, Mrs. Reed’s mother had an accident, and she’s been taking care of her ever since. She asked me to bring her some clothes and the medicine your mother had sent before.”
“Medicine?”
“Yeah, that medicine. When Mrs. Reed’s grandfather was alive, Ms. Kaylee had a conflict with him while delivering the medicine, right? There were still a few bottles that didn’t break, and Mrs. Reed asked me to send them to her.”
Liam took off his suit, “Why did she want you to send the medicine?”
“She didn’t say, but her face looked pretty bad at the time.”
Liam frowned, “Has anything else happened recently?”
Amelia shook her head.

As he was about to go upstairs, Amelia stopped him, “Sir, will Mrs. Reed come home tonight? Should I leave the door unlocked for her?”
Liam’s fingers twitched and after a while, he said, “Leave it unlocked.”
Liam walked into the bedroom, and Celeste’s scent still lingered in the room.
He hesitated to open the window, pulled the curtains closed, and lay down on the bed.
Her scent on the bed was even stronger. Liam smelled her fragrance and thought of her determination at the funeral, and his mood grew heavy.
He took out his phone, opened WhatsApp, and edited a message for a long time before finally writing, “Can we not get a divorce?”
He hesitated for a long time before sending it. He thought that if Celeste didn’t reply within two minutes, he would withdraw the message.
