Liam furrowed his brow, but Wesley only said that one line before leaving
The old lady had been in the meeting until midnight, feeling a bit under the weather, so she didn’t stick around much longer after it ended In the car, Liam kept replaying that video, his brow furrowed as he asked, “Owen, has this video been tampered with by you?”
“I didn’t switch it. The footage was just like this when I retrieved it from school, without any trace of her Liam pursed his lips. At 2 30 that afternoon, she said she was going to the restroom. He watched from the end of the hall as she walked past the multimedia room to the restroomt, but even that scene wasn’t on the tape. Clearly, someone had tampered with the video. To be able to alter it in such a short time, could she have had accomplices? Liam shut his eyes, thinking of the coincidental encounter with Mason at the press conference and Mason’s appearance in the video. There couldn’t be such a coincidence, could there?

Steven was lounging with his tablet, scrolling through news online, and he said lightly, “The whole Campbell family drama could make a hit TV show.”
Nathan responded, “It’s quite a surprise. Who would’ve thought Angel Campbell was Shawn Campbell’s biological daughter?”
“Why did Celeste Campbell choose to reveal this now? Doesn’t she know the impact this could have on Liam?”
Nathan said, “There are whispers going around that Liam is getting close with a female celebrity, and he and Celeste are on the verge of a divorce.”
“No way.”
Steven tossed his tablet aside, “Liam hates all that showbiz nonsense. There’s no way he would have a fling with a celebrity. You must’ve got your wires crossed.”
Nathan said, “I doubt it. Liam left the wedding with that celebrity. There were plenty of witnesses on site. Besides, Celeste is sort of a showbiz figure herself, isn’t she? I think it’s your intel that’s off.”
After a long pause, Steven said, “There are many reasons for a divorce, there’s no need to choose a method that’s bad for everyone. Looking at the current situation, more people are blaming Quantum than Angel. I suspect someone is pulling strings behind the scenes, pushing things forward
“But there’s hardly any company that can compete with Quantum. No one has the capacity to cut a slice from Quantum’s cake. Quantum’s damaged reputation doesn’t do any good for other companies.”
Steven rubbed his chin, “Perhaps, that person isn’t interested in Quantum’s cake?”
“What are they after then?”
Steven fell silent.
If things continued this way, Liam would definitely be implicated. Knowing it was Celeste’s doing, he might divorce her. Who was looking forward to their divorce? And why were they moving so fast?
After a while, Steven said, “Nathan, could you do me a favor and suppress those false rumors about Quantum online?”
Nathan was taken aback, “You want to help Quantum?”
“I want to help Mrs. Reed I have a few things to discuss with her.” Steven said calmly, “Get on it immediately, and keep it hush-hush. We don’t want anyone finding out.”
“Got it.”
Angel didn’t get home until 1 in the morning. The house was ablaze with lights. Shawn was busy getting people to handle the situation.
