Mason cracked a smile, “Easier said than done, man. These things take time. But hey, if you know someone who’s good for me, feel free to play matchmaker. I’m not asking for the moon here. As long as she’s easy on the eyes, and has a personality kinda like Celeste, we’re golden.”
Liam stared deep into Mason’s eyes, not sure if he was just messing around or dead serious
Meanwhile, Celeste was way more chill about the whole thing, kinda stoked, actually. She leaned in and whispered to Liam,”See? I’m hot property on the dating market.”
With Nicolas in the picture, and now Mason, Celeste was on cloud nine and couldn’t help but beam with joy.
Liam glanced at her, “Yeah, being a looker with zero brain power sure makes you a hot commodity.”
Celeste was like, “Jerk! Can’t you say anything nice?!”
It turned out Mason was just joshing around. He put on a straight face and said in a gentle tone,”Let’s bounce and check out what Nicolas is up
to.”
As Trisha caught up, Dr. Ledford was having a chinwag with Nicolas.
He’d slipped off his white coat and looked dapper in a suit, jawing with some mates, all smiles. Trisha was so starstruck she barely noticed anyone else. Dr. Ledford could do no wrong in her eyes.
She primped a bit, then tip-toed over and called softly,” Dr. Ledford?”
Jace Ledford froze for a moment and turned to look at her.
His eyes scanned her from bottom to top, lingering on Trisha’s fair, slim legs, then up past her curves to her blushing face.
He hesitated, then finally asked, “You are…?”
Trisha’s heart sank a little when her crush didn’t recognize her. Trisha was a bit disappointed, but she still introduced herself, “I’m Trisha, the one who came to see you for a check-up. We even chatted on WhatsApp today.”
“Oh, it’s you!”Jace seemed genuinely shocked. He got up and said warmly. “My bad, I didn’t recognize you. You look totally different.”
As Trisha listened to his smooth, magnetic voice, her heart was doing somersaults.
She spoke softly,”Well, we’re here for Mr. Francis’ birthday. Couldn’t show up looking like a scrub, so I cleaned up a bit.”
Over yonder, Nicolas, who was boozing with friends, did a spit-take and gave Trisha a sideways glance.
Not very tall, but well-proportioned, decent figure, toned arms and legs definitely not a pampered princess. More like a high schooler trying to wear grown-up clothes. Probably an athlete.
He rummaged through his memory bank but couldn’t place her face. Who the heck is she?
He downed his drink and sauntered over to Jace, grinning like a Cheshire cat,”Whore you chatting with?”
Jace answered, Ms. Colton here. You guys must know each other.”
“Ms Colton?”
Nicolas furrowed his brow.
Trisha was wound tighter than a drum. Damn it, why did Nicolas have to show up now?! She hadn’t even made it halfway through her master plan. She couldn’t let the cat out of the bag just yet!
“Um…”
Before Nicolas could finish, Trisha pounced and gave him a bear hug.”Nicolas! Long time no see! You’ve changed so much, I hardly recognize you!”

He put his hands on Trisha’s shoulders, “Who the hell are”
As soon as he pushed her back, Trisha went in for another bear hug,”Nicolas, do you think I’ve changed since we were kids?*
