Celeste grabbed Sean’s arm and said, “Come on, we just took half a day off; let’s go buy gifts for the Dean and Hugo and visit them later”

Celeste picked up a pair of sneakers and asked, “What about these?”
Sean felt a little out of place in the store. The clean ceiling reflected his shabby shoes, constantly reminding him that he didn’t belong in this luxury shop.
The salesperson immediately approached, “Miss, you have great taste! These sneakers are our latest style, perfect for sports, and very lightweight. What size do you need?”
Sean pursed his lips and whispered, “I’m not trying it on.”
“Why not? It’s for you.” Celeste told the salesperson, “Bring me a pair of size 42.*
Sean awkwardly took off his shoes, revealing his left sock that was torn with his toes peeking out.
“That’s a unique pair of socks,” Celeste joked, then turned to the salesperson and asked for a new pair of socks.

Before Celeste could speak, Sean blurted out, “That expensive?”
He immediately regretted his words. Thinking about the store’s decorations, the prices would obviously not be cheap. He felt like a country bumpkin who had stumbled into a world that didn’t belong to him, where everything seemed out of place.
