After a while, unable to hold it in any longer, he peeked out through the crack again. To his surprise, Liam was still working. This went on a few times until Liam finally said, “If you need to use the bathroom, just go. Don’t make a mess in the room.” Sean’s face reddened, and he finally gathered the courage to go to the bathroom.
When he returned, Liam was still working His desk was covered in documents, and Liam seemed to read them effortlessly. “If you can’t sleep, just watch TV here.”
Liam’s voice was cold but not unpleasant, “There are drinks in the fridge if you want any.”
Sean shook his head and sat down on the nearby couch.
Liam tossed him the remote.
Sean didn’t turn on the TV since he didn’t like watching it.
He thought Liam might ask him some questions, but Liam didn’t seem to care about his presence and continued working without being disturbed
Sean had known Celeste for many years and knew she was married, but he had never met her husband before.
