Chapter 333
After a few people got in the car, the door closed and the car started moving.
Steven frowned and said to the person on the phone, “I have something going on, I’ll call you back later, gotta go.”
After hanging up, he told Nathan, “Follow that car ahead, but keep your distance, don’t let them notice.”
Nathan immediately started the car and followed.
The off–road vehicle was very cautious, avoiding surveillance and driving a certain distance before turning into a small road.
Nathan was familiar with the area and didn’t dare to follow the small road directly, so he decided to take a detour and intercept at the other end.
They waited at another intersection for a while, but only saw a white van pass by, not the black off–road vehicle.
Nathan frowned and said, “Something’s not right. This road is less than a mile long, there are no other roads. They shouldn’t take so long.”
Steven paused and then laughed, interest flashing in his eyes, “They got away from us.”
“How could it be?” Nathan hesitated. “You mean the van just now?”
Due to the narrowness of the road, only one car could pass at a time. Therefore, the most plausible explanation was that they had switched
vehicles.
Nathan was quite surprised. “How did she find out? I followed so far away.”
Steven pondered, “Maybe she didn’t find anything particular, she’s just cautious and quite smart.”
“Mr. Garcia, what should we do now?”
The van had already left a few minutes ago, and it would be useless to chase after it now.
Steven tapped the leather seat and looked up, “Which area has poor surveillance coverage?”
“West side.”
“Head west.”
Kaylee woke up from her coma, opening her eyes to find everything pitch black. Her eyes were covered with a cloth, her mouth sealed with tape, and her hands and legs tightly bound. She couldn’t move at all.
The fear in her heart was magnified infinitely, and she struggled in panic. But with her mouth covered, she could only make a muffled hum from her nose.
Celeste stood emotionlessly in front of her, watching her panicked expression before tearing off the tape on her mouth violently.
The pain made Kaylee can’t help but moan.
Ignoring the pain, Kaylee yelled in fear, “Who are you? Why did you kidnap me? Do you know who I am? My family will not let you go, you better let me go now! Uh…”
Before she could finish speaking, her mouth was stuffed with a piece of rag, choking her almost to the point of vomiting.
Before she could react, her face was slapped hard. The force was so strong that Kaylee felt her ears buzzing.
There were hard stones inside the rag, and her mouth started bleeding when she had slapped.
Kaylee had never experienced anything like this before, and she started crying.
However, her eyes were covered, her mouth stuffed, and she couldn’t even cry out.
In a sudden moment, her previous bravado faded away, and she frantically shook her head, attempting to dislodge the object in her mouth. She yearned to convey to these individuals that she had ample financial resources, as long as they refrained from inflicting harm upon her.
However, no one gave her the opportunity, and she was slapped again, then a third and a fourth time.
Unable to contact Celeste, Liam called Trisha.
As it turned out, Trisha also didn’t know where Celeste had gone, and she was nowhere to be found at Mercy Hospital.
As they searched everywhere, Celeste seemed to have evaporated into thin air.
Liam’s unease continued to grow.
Meanwhile, Nathan looked at the van emerging from the small road and whispered, “Mr. Garcia, it’s coming.”
