“How do you know?”
Liam said casually, “I just came from there.”
Celeste looked surprised, “You went to Grandpa David’s?”
Judging by her tone, it seemed odd to her. Liam frowned, “Where else could I go?”
Celeste pouted, thinking that with his personality, he should’ve gone to check on his sweetheart first, right?
Speaking of which, she glanced at Liam and said, “It’s pouring rain. I wonder how Ms. Denton is doing?”
Liam looked at her strangely and said lightly, “I doubt anyone is as dumb as you,”
It turned out Liam didn’t go see Sydney.
She was getting more and more confused. Liam’s attitude towards Sydney was increasingly baffling.
Just kicking her into the water today might’ve been worse than Sydney getting hurt at the charity event. Yet, last time he carried her away, and this time seemed completely indifferent.
Shouldn’t people spoil their loved ones even more? Then why does Sydney always look so cautious around Liam?
Sydney wouldn’t even dare to point at his nose and scold him like Celeste did.
Liam’s phone rang.
He pulled out one hand and answered the call. On the other end was Nicolas, accompanied by the sound of the storm, “Liam, are you and Celeste alright?”
“We’re fine. What about you?”
“I’m okay. I’m with Mason. He came to give me a life jacket. Do you two have enough life jackets? When Mason came to deliver the medicine, he didn’t notice if there were life jackets in the room. If you don’t have any, I have extras here. I can bring them to you.”
Liam frowned and said, “No need. We have it.”
“Alright, contact me if anything happens.”
After hanging up, Celeste asked, “How are Mr. Fletcher and Mr. Francis doing?”
Liam paused and said, “Shouldn’t you be more concerned about your own husband? Was my $1 billion easy to get?”
Celeste glanced at him, mumbling, “You look like you’re just fine.”
Liam glared at her again. Celeste closed her mouth, then, after a while, said, “Hubby, can I talk to you about something?”
As soon as Liam heard her call him hubby, he knew nothing good was coming. But he was still curious about what Celeste wanted to say, so he said, “What is it?”
“Actually, after we divorce, can the house we’re living in now be mine?”
Liam’s face changed instantly. However, since the flashlight’s light was dim, Celeste didn’t notice.
She went on, “To be honest, I’ve gotten really used to this house. Plus, I’ve planted so many plants in the yard and upstairs. It’d be such a pain to move. I’ve thought about it, and I guess I might as well not move. After we get a divorce, you can move out, and the value of this house can be deducted from my 1 billion, okay? Anyway, you’re always on business trips, and you don’t stay there much when you come back. And it’d be so boring to live in such a huge villa all by yourself. Your grandma always asks you to stay with her, right? Once we get a divorce, you can move back to the mansion, and this way you can spend more time with her. It’d be great.” –
