Kaylee held an empty pill box in her hand the very contraceptive pill box she had finished and thrown in the trash bin yesterday!
The maid had cleaned the room yesterday, so how come this was here?
Before she could think about it, Skyler’s face turned serious.
She walked over to Kaylee, took the pill box from her, and examined the words on it. Her expression worsened.
“Celeste, what is this, and why is it in your room?*
Celeste went pale. This time, she wasn’t pretending – she was genuinely scared.
Sienna didn’t understand what was going on, so she confusedly asked, “What’s going on? What is it?”
Skyler said in an angry tone, “Contraceptive pills! No wonder she hasn’t been getting pregnant! Mom, they’ve been preventing pregnancy all this time!” Sienna looked shocked, “Contraceptive?”
Her eyes shifted from the pill box to Celeste, and finally landed on Liam as she queried, “Liam, did you make her take these?”
Uncomfortable, Kaylee said, ‘Grandma, even at a time like this, you’re still taking her side? If she didn’t want to, could Liam force her to take it?”
Sienna knocked her cane, “Shut up! I did not ask you to speak!”
Annoyed, Kaylee closed her mouth.
Celeste was obviously ashamed. Even at a time like this, Sienna was reluctant to doubt her. She clenched her fists and before Liam could speak, she whispered, “No, Liam didn’t know. I wanted to take them myself.”
Sienna was disappointed. She held back her anger and asked, “Why?”

She was afraid of the disappointment that lay within them.
Instead of scolding her, Sienna just gave her a bitter look for a while. Eventually, she didn’t say anything else, just whispered, “Everyone, go home.”

After everyone left, Liam returned to find Celeste was gone from the bedroom.
He went downstairs to look for her and found the balcony door on the second floor wasn’t properly closed.
Sure enough, Celeste was out on the balcony.
The balcony was lush with plants and flowers Celeste had cultivated, and even though it was the end of spring, it still felt fresh.
Celeste stood by the railing, watching Sienna leave. By now, she couldn’t even see the car anymore.
Liam approached her, asking softly. “When did you take the pills?”
Celeste replied casually, “Yesterday morning.”
That was just the day after their intimate moment.
Frowning, Liam asked, “Why did you take them?”
Celeste found the question slightly funny, but she wasn’t in the mood to laugh.
Clearly, he was the one who didn’t want a kid or take precautions. Now that she had taken the pills, it was as if all the blame rested on her
She said calmly, “What if I got pregnant otherwise?”

Understanding dawned on Celeste, as she realized Liam would never have committed such an oversight
