This lady really knows how to twist things!
Trisha was about to speak up, but Celeste stopped her.
“Mr. Miller, this lady just told us you weren’t here, I thought you forgot about today’s audition.”
The woman’s face darkened, and she quickly defended herself, “Mr. Miller, when did you get here? I asked the others, and they said you weren’t around.”
Zach’s gaze swept over the three of them before saying lightly. “Follow me.”
Zach led them to a slightly larger office-like space, then took the woman who had just argued with them away, asking Celeste and the others to wait for a
moment.
As soon as the two left, Trisha started checking her phone.
Celeste saw her scrolling through Instagram and whispered, “What are you looking for?”
Trisha replied, “I feel like I’ve seen that woman before, but I can’t remember where. I’m trying to find a group photo they posted:”
As soon as she said that, she found it. “It’s her!”
“Who?”
“Lorinda”
Celeste frowned, “That name sounds familiar.
The crappy TV show you did voiceover work for, Mystery Lover, was directed by her. She’s known for making terrible TV shows and loves stirring up drama! She’s famous for making idol dramas but always says she looks down on them. What a joke!”
With that, Celeste remembered seeing Lorinda’s name in several TV shows, “Why is she here with Zach?”
I’m not sure. There are rumors that Lorinda’s husband is very powerful. Early on, her shows were crappy, but she always managed to secure funding. Then she bought a few popular shows and hired famous stars, making a lot of money. She’s been on a roll these past few years. Ugh, I kind of regret arguing with her just now. What if she makes things difficult for you?”
Celeste was surprisingly calm, “What will be will be. If she really wants to make things difficult for me, it’ll happen sooner or later, whether you argued with her or not. Let’s just wait and see.”
Trisha was still worried, but then she thought that no matter how powerful Lorinda’s husband was, he couldn’t be more powerful than the Reed family of J City, right? Liam wouldn’t just stand by and let his wife be bullied, would he? With that thought, she felt relieved.
After about ten minutes, Zach, Lorinda, and three others walked in.
A younger man handed Celeste a few sheets of paper.
Zach said, “You have five minutes to look over the script, and then we’ll begin.”
Celeste was taken aback when she saw the script because it was for the queen’s lines.
The queen was the biggest antagonist in the play, and a very famous senior actress had already been chosen to play the role. Why was Zach giving her the queen’s lines?
Celeste looked up to see several people either playing on their phones or whispering to each other. In the end, she suppressed her doubts and quickly memorized the lines.
When the time was up, she told Zach, “I’m ready”
Zach gestured to the man who had handed her the script, and he immediately understood, starting to narrate.
This scene was after one of the king’s lovers had fallen out of favor. The queen, in order to gain custody of the prince, deliberately arranged for the prince to fall into a lake. Then, she jumped into the freezing water on a cold winter night to save him, so that the king would eliminate all doubts and entrust the prince to her care
