Liam snorted, “If you had said she beat you up and threatened you to help her, maybe I would’ve believed it.”
“Celeste looks so skinny and weak, could she really beat you up?” Nicolas asked.
Liam’s nose started to hurt again.
“Are you going to tell me or not? If not, I’m hanging up!” Liam said.
Nicolas stopped beating around the bush and told Liam everything Celeste had asked him to do.
“Celeste really is ruthless. I heard Shawn is bidding on that Riverside Shire project and has put up most of his fortune. He’s counting on Garfield to help him out. If he can’t pull it off, given Garfield’s petty nature, he probably won’t deal with him again, and the bidding project will be screwed. Celeste isn’t their only daughter, how could she be so heartless towards her own dad?” Nicolas said.
Liam didn’t say anything.
Not long after Caitlyn’s car accident, Shawn had cut off her medication and planned to give up treating her. This was something Celeste could never forget, and putting pressure on him was actually going easy on him.
“Huh? Why are you silent?” Nicolas asked.
Liam frowned, “If you’re so concerned, why don’t you go ask her yourself?”
Nicolas was at a loss for words.
“What’s with you towards Celeste today? It’s just a pair of socks, man. Is it really worth making such a big deal out of?” Nicolas said.
Liam suddenly paused, “Who told you about the socks?”
“Celeste,” Nicolas squinted, “Are you really mad about the socks being mistakenly sent to Mason?”
“You’re talking too much crap today!” Liam said.
Liam’s face darkened. How could this woman tell everyone everything?
Nicolas was satisfied with his successful gossiping and asked cheerfully, “Should I help her with this?”
“You agreed to it yourself, why are you asking me?” Liam said.
Liam didn’t want to talk to him anymore and hung up the phone.
Nicolas clicked his tongue and then called the jewelry store manager.
Celeste went to the recording studio. A friend had asked her to voice a female character in an animated show.
There was still no news about the audition, but since she had nothing else to do, she went over.
The friend used to do voice acting with her named Kendrick Kidd, and he was a top voice actor in the industry. But in recent years, he had rarely done voice acting for TV shows. He had invested in animation production with his friends and focused his energy on that.
The project that he invited Celeste to join was his own production.
Since her part was small and it was just a friendly guest appearance, she considered it as doing him a favor.
When she arrived, she saw a lot of people gathered in the lobby.
They all had distinctive styles and looked very young.
When Kendrick’s company was first established, Celeste had sent gifts. So, she glanced at the crowd and planned to go around them and head upstairs to the recording studio.
Before she could get past, someone called out to her, “Sign up here!”
Celeste stopped, “Sign up?”
A young girl enthusiastically said, “Register your information. Everyone’s here because they admire Kendrick, so you have to register before you can apply”
This guy was actually using his own name to recruit people, no wonder there were so many young students gathered here.
