Celeste had said this initially as a way to encourage Liam.
However, after learning from Mason about Liam’s past drowning experience, she didn’t want to use this as a condition to motivate him anymore.
She softly said. “Even if you don’t learn, I still want to marry you, and no one can stop that. But I still hope you can learn My mum Caitlyn always tells me it’s good to learn as many skills as possible. They might come in handy I think swimming is one of those important skills you should learn. But if you cant, it’s okay, I’ve got your back, in the water, I can still hold onto you.”
Moved by her words, Liam gently squeezed Celeste’s hand under the water and murmured,
I’ll give it another go.”
Celeste replied, “If you’re really scared, then forget about it. Don’t force yourself. I didn’t know you’d had a drowning incident before.”
Liam paused, “Did Mason tell you?”
Celeste nodded, then complained a bit, “Does everyone know except me?”

Curiosity piqued, Celeste asked, “What really happened?”
Liam moistened his lips, took a moment, then started to tell her
