At half past six, Steven knocked on their door to ask them to come downstairs, saying all the guests had arrived.
On the way to the banquet hall, clusters of dianthus flowers were visible everywhere in the hotel, in all kinds of colors, emitting a refreshing fragrance.
Celeste asked, “Steven, doesn’t Clair have asthma? There are so many flowers here, won’t she be affected by the strong smell?”
“This is what Clair requested; she really likes dianthus flowers.”
Celeste didn’t say anything more.
Steven paused, whispering, “Celeste, what kind of flowers do you like? I’ll prepare them for your birthday.”
Before Celeste could answer, Liam said, “She likes all flowers, but if she has to pick a favorite, it would be sunflowers, because you can eat sunflower seeds”
Celeste knew her brother wouldn’t be happy about Liam answering for her.
Steven, not pleased to hear him talk, glanced at him, “Mr. Reed, have you heard of the saying…”
Liam waited for him to speak
“It’s too late to mend the fold after the sheep have escaped.”

Unable to hold back her laughter, Celeste held onto Steven, whispering, “Steven, he’s always known what flowers I like. Those flowers I grow at home, he’s the one taking care of them when I’m not around. Stop giving him a hard time, okay? For my sake?”
Though unwilling, Steven didn’t say anything more, instead asking Celeste, “Do you like gardening?”
Celeste nodded, “Mainly because I really like the fragrance of flowers, I find it quite magical.”
“Me too Steven smiled, “Just like our mom.”

Chatting away, they had already reached the banquet hall
As they pushed open the door, they saw that the hall was already packed with people.
Clair, dressed in a pastel pink chiffon gown, was laughing and having a grand old time chatting with the people around her.
She was sporting a silver, diamond–studded crown on her head. The bracelet and earrings she wore seemed to be a matching set with the crown, shining brightly and catching everyone’s eye in the crowd
Sensing that someone was watching her, Clair suddenly turned her head.
She seemed somewhat surprised when she saw them, then her eyes suddenly lit up, making her elegant face even more vibrant
She put down whatever she was holding and slowly walked towards them
As she got closer, she pulled Steven’s hand out from Celeste’s arm and held it. “Steven, you finally made it.”
Celeste stood there stunned, staring at her now empty hand, unconsciously curling her fingers.
