The gifts they brought had been collected by the housekeeper. It took Celeste a while to find the bag with the tie.
Opening it for a quick glance, she rushed back to the rooftop.
Liam was looking for her and saw her running up the stairs like she was being chased.
After all these years of marriage, she was still the same.
Liam sighed and followed her up
When Celeste returned to the rooftop, Mason was still there.
She walked over, handed him the gift, and said, “Mr. Fletcher, thank you for your help yesterday. I didn’t know how to thank you. I saw this at the mall today and bought it, I hope you like it,”
Mason was taken aback, then laughed, “I have something for you too.”
He took out a brand new, unopened phone and handed it over, “I saw your phone got broken yesterday. I happen to have a spare one at home that you can use.”
Celeste quickly refused, “It’s too valuable” She didn’t want to owe any more favors.
“Compared to the tie, it’s much cheaper,” Mason said. “I noticed you didn’t have a phone today, so you probably haven’t bought a new one yet. It’s inconvenient without a phone these days.
