Her grandfather’s warmth towards her had cooled significantly, while her grandmother remained expressionless.

Steven paused for a moment, “Mrs, Janis.”
It was Hiram who awkwardly stood up, “What brings you here?”
Janis spoke softly. “You forgot your blood pressure meds. I thought you might not be able to find them, so I brought them over.”
Steven remained silent with his lips pursed.
Blood pressure meds weren’t emergency drugs. There’s no need to carry them around all the time.
But Hiram didn’t think that much. He took the meds, whispering, “You could’ve just sent someone to deliver this. Why did you have to personally come?”
Lowly, Janis replied, “Mr. and Mrs. Hann have been in J City for a while now. I wanted to visit them. And Celeste, you’ve been looking forward to this for so long. I wanted to share this joy with you.”
Hiram was in a bit of a bind.
