Celeste was speechless.
Liam was confused.

Trusting Trisha was a mistake, as she had a tendency to speak foolishly

Celeste swallowed and whispered. “Can we discuss this at home? We still have a show to put on.”

“I didn’t mean to hide it from you, Celeste gently traced his hand with her fingers, “I didn’t expect to see him here. I was taken aback and didn’t know how to tell you. You’re easily jealous, if you got upset and decided not to play along, we would’ve come here for nothing.”
Liam still looked stemn
Celeste softened her tone, “Liam, Liam? Mr. Reed?”
Liam remained unmoved.
She gritted her teeth and decided to go for broke, “My dear, stop being angry with me, you can punish me however you want when we get home, okay? Being angry is bad for your health. It hurts me to see you like this.”

He looked down to see Celeste looking at him with puppy dog eyes. She knew him too well.

He glanced at her and asked in a deep voice, “How long did you two date?”
Celeste came clean, “Last semester of senior year.”
Liam’s brows furrowed abruptly getting hot under the collar “You’re about to apply for colleges, and you’re in the mood for love?”
Celest replied in a hushed tone. “That’s why we split after just two weeks I was afraid it’d mess up my future.”
Liam grudgingly accepted this reasoning, then continued to grill her. ‘Did you go after him, or did he come after you?”
Celeste lowered her voice, “Can we continue this at home?”
