She smiled and said, “I know these brands don’t impress you. After all, you used to wear custom–made Elie or Saab, but things are different now. I can only afford these kinds of dresses, they might be average, but they’re better than being made fun of.”
What she meant was, look at yourself now. What are you trying to pretend to be?
Celeste glanced at her and suddenly gathered her hair to one side.
The design of the dress she was wearing best accentuated a woman’s curves. It had a swan embroidered with special silver thread on the side. It shimmered under the light as if ready to take flight.
“Why does this embroidery technique look so familiar?”
“Is that embroidery? I thought it was printed.”
