Liam watched her for a while, seeming a bit indecisive.
Celeste saw his reaction in the mirror. While curling her hair, she asked him, “Don’t like it?”
Liam shook his head, “It’s beautiful.”
“Then why do you look like that?”
Liam said, “Even though it’s beautiful, you don’t look like someone invited to a wedding. You look more like someone sitting at the table waiting for
the bride to toast.”
Celeste was speechless.
He had a novel way of saying she looked “old.”
“Do you want to change?” Liam asked.
“No need,” Celeste sprayed some hairspray on her hair, then gently grabbed her hair and adjusted it in the mirror. She said casually. “This is the
effect I want.”
After all, a wedding always needs some “surprises“.
Shawn’s second marriage invited most of the celebrities in J City.
On his own, he could never have invited so many people.
But Shawn was brilliant. He made a list of invited guests and posted it on social media. Everyone saw that Liam, Nicolas, and others would be there, so they were willing to go.
After all, Liam was now a well–known bachelor in J City. Many people wanted to introduce him to potential partners.
Just living with Liam for a few days, he received six or seven recommendations of female socialites from his clients and friends.
Now that Skyler has been kicked out of the Reed family. Liam is the most likely candidate for the chairman of Quantum. His wife could poter become the hostess of the Reed family. Who wouldn’t want that position?
After all, even someone like Shawn could make a fortune simply by being associated with the Reed family.
When they arrived, the parking lot was almost complete.
Celeste touched up her makeup in the mirror, then said to Liam, “I’ll go in first. You come in later.”
Liam frowned, “Why?”
Celeste said, “You need to play your role as a lovesick puppy well, making Shawn believe you’re still hung up on me and can’t have me. That way. he’ll be more eager to win me over.”
Liam twitched, “Lovesick puppy? How do I play that?”
Celeste said, “Just be more low–key than your usual self.”
Owen couldn’t help it, and he burst out laughing.
“What’s so funny!” Liam frowned at him.
Owen instantly shut up.
Celeste leaned over and kissed Liam’s cheek, “Put on a good show. I believe in you.”
Just as she was about to leave, Liam yanked her back and gave her a kiss, “How many points will I get if I do well today?”
Liam was seriously obsessed with this points, which driving Celeste up the wall. They had already done the deed, but he still insisted on earning points. What the hell was that about?
She moved closer to Liam, whispering, “Are you after the points, or do you want to follow the doctor’s advice?”

Celeste was utterly baffled.
She straightened up and asked him seriously, “Are you sure?”
Liam glanced at her nonchalantly, “I know the difference between being full after one meal and being full after every meal.”
Celeste felt utterly hopeless.
After she got out of the car, she headed straight for the wedding venue.
