Liams face darkened He held back for a while, but in the end, he couldn’t resist retorting, “If Mason was really protecting Celeste, he wouldn’t have waited until someone else made a move to show up!”
Steven sneered, “Some people never show up at all, and yet they have the nerve to criticize others.”
Seeing Liam left speechless, Steven felt a bit better. He even taunted him, “Mason is pretty reliable when it counts My grandparents like him too. Seeing him with Celeste is much more pleasing than seeing you with her”
Liam was exasperated. “Stop talking nonsense. Celeste doesn’t like guys like Mason!”
Steven laughed coldly. “That’s because you’re always meddling between them. She never had the chance. If you dare to cut ties with her and let her be alone with Mason, I bet shed develop feelings for him. Do you dare?”
Liam wasn’t provoked in a determined tone, he weakly said, “I don’t dare.”
Steven cursed. “You’re such a coward!”
As soon as his words fell, Celeste said, “Mr. Steven is scolding you again?”
Liam looked up, his tone suddenly soft, “I don’t know, maybe he just doesn’t like me.”
What a hypocrite!
But he didn’t feel like exposing Liam right now. He asked, “Celeste, how are you? Why can’t I reach you on your phone?”
“I’m fine. I got too many messages and calls, so I turned off my phone. I replied to Eaton’s message. Didn’t he tell you?”
“He did, but I’d feel better hearing it from you”
Celeste smiled, “I’m not that fragile. It’s just… I’ve caused trouble for the company again.”
“It’s not trouble,” Steven’s face darkened at the thought of the root cause of the whole incident, “You rest well. The company will handle the public opinion.”
“Mr Garcia Celeste called out to him.
Steven paused and asked, “What is it?”
Celeste opened her mouth, hesitated momentarily, then closed it again. Then she said quietly, “Nothing, just… get some rest too”
Steven chuckled and said, “You too”
After hanging up, Liam looked at Celeste and asked quietly. “You wanted to tell him about your plan, didn’t you?”
Celeste nodded.
“Why didn’t you?”
“I didn’t know how to say it. Sydney is Skyline Media Group’s top actress, and my plan would harm Mr. Garcia’s interests. How could he possibly agree to that?”
Liam thought to himself, as long as she asked, that sister–obsessed maniac would have done anything for her, even if it meant sacrificing a little bit of profit.
The plan was kept completely confidential. It was better to involve as few people as possible. There was no telling if someone on Steven’s team might leak the information.
Celeste’s commitment was seriously touching; she had pledged to teach him how to cook fish soup.
Liam was super cocky about his hands–on skills, but through a series of steps, you could hear Celeste’s irritated voice echoing around the kitchen.
“Liam‘ Are you cooking fish in the pot or shooting hoops? Why are you standing so far away?”
“Flip it, flip it now! It’s burnt. What on earth are you doing?”

Once the fish soup was served, they sat down facing each other, and Liam scooped a bowl for her.
With a polite hand gesture, Celeste pushed it back, “You’ve worked hard cooking. You go first.”
