“Why can’t I? I said I didn’t push her. It’s you who don’t believe me.” Celeste said.
“You say you didn’t push her, do you have evidence?” Terell asked.
While they were talking, Celeste’s phone rang. It was a call from Liam, who probably had seen the news online and was calling to check on her
Celeste picked up her phone and attempted to leave. Terell signaled a man to come over, who suddenly snatched her phone away
Celeste’s face changed, “What the hell are you doing?”
“Since you don’t want to apologize, we’ll do it for you.” He said, trying to check her phone.
Celeste’s face turned ugly in an instant, she grabbed a coffee cup from the table and splashed it towards his face
Blinded by the coffee. Terell cursed while rubbing his eyes Celeste snatched her phone back and coldly said. “My agency will handle it only signed a business cooperation contract with your company, and you have no right to manage my personal account”
After a pause, she added, “I’ve said everything I wanted to say. If you don’t believe me, you can check the surveillance footage and recordings. instead of accusing me without any investigation based on online rumors I can responsibly say, if I really did push her, I wouldn’t have a good outcome. If it was Sydney who did it intentionally, then her broken leg is what she deserves.”
Terell was so angry his face turned green. He wanted to say something, but Javier cut in, “Terell, it’s too early to say anything. If you force her to apologize and then the truth comes out, won’t it be even harder for her to back down?”
Terell brushed off his hand, coldly saying, “What a great actress you’ve picked!”
Just as Terell was leaving with a cold face, Janetta returned.
She glanced at him, then turned back to see Celeste looking upset. She had a hunch that something must have happened while she was away Before she could think more, Javier called Celeste over and whispered, “You should rest at home for a few days. I’ll let you know if anything happens.”
Celeste wanted to explain, but seeing Javier’s exhausted face, she swallowed her words.
Without any evidence, the more she explained, the less convincing she appeared. She shouldn’t waste her time here.
Once she got in the car, she called Liam back. As soon as the call connected, Liam asked, “Where are you now?”
“In the car, heading home.” Celeste said.
Liam said, “Don’t go home. Your address has been leaked. There are reporters camped out around Grandview Heights, you won’t be able to get
in.”
Celeste was stunned, then let out a bitter laugh. She had underestimated Sydney’s massive fan base and influence.
“I’ll send you a location, have your driver take you there. I’ll be there later” Liam said.
Celeste opened her mouth, her voice barely audible. I didn’t push her”
Liam said, “I know.”
“But I did give her the boot off that cruise ship last time.” Celeste said.
Liam chuckled, whispering, “I know, I know”
Celeste went silent for a moment, then said, “You mentioned before that Sydney saved someone really important to you, but you didn’t wanna spill the beans on who that was. I’m not gonna pry now. What I wanna know is, if I make a move on Sydney, are you gonna step in?”
Before Liam could even respond, Celeste continued talking to herself, “Even if you do step in, I’m still gonna do what I gotta do. You’ve got your favors to repay, and I’ve got my grudges to settle. Even if I can’t take you down, I’m gonna let off some steam”
Liam sighed, “I’ve paid back what I owed, you don’t have to worry about me. But still, it’d be better if you don’t take matters into your own hands, let me handle it.”
