Shawn seemed a bit guilty, mumbling, “I was in a meeting and didn’t hear the phone ringing. What happened?”
His words rang a bell. Back when Shawn was having a fling with her, whenever Caitlyn called, Shawn would always divert the conversation, even if they were in bed together.

Helen was so furious she was shaking. She cut to the chase and asked, “Why hasn’t she had the surgery yet?”

Helen sternly asked. “When can she have it then?”
Shawn replied, “Once her health improves a bit, let’s see what the doctor says If the doctor says no, we can’t force her to do it.”
Helen clenched her fists, scoffing internally Since when did he become so moral? When she initially suggested taking action against Caitlyn, he pretended to be hesitant, but as soon as he realized he might end up in prison, he didn’t hesitate at all
Helen swallowed her anger, keeping her voice steady, “Shawn, do you really want to keep the baby?”
Shawn was taken aback and quickly denied, “How could that be? I’ve already promised you that as long as you take care of your pregnancy, I’ll handle things with Lucilla I do like kids, but we’ve been together for so many years, I have to consider your feelings. Don’t overthink things, just focus on your pregnancy
Helen sneered internally but spoke gently, “Shawn, if the risk of the abortion is so high, we won’t do it.”
Shawn was stunned, thinking he misheard, “What what did you say?”
Helen said, “If you really want this baby, keep it. But you have to promise me that once the baby is born, this woman will leave J City forever I’ll treat her child as my own, as long as you can assure me of this. I’m willing to accept the child.”
Angel exclaimed in shock, “Mom, have you lost your mind-
Helen shot her a stern look and Angel shut up
Had her mom gone mad from anger? Willing to raise someone else’s child? Had pregnancy made her stupid?
Shawn was left dumbfounded by Helen’s sudden change, even feeling a bit wary

So every time Helen suggested having a wedding ceremony, he would just brush her off.
Helen knew what he was thinking, she said softly, “Shawn, here’s what I’m thinking. We can announce my pregnancy at our wedding ceremony, saying I’m expecting twins.
