Chapter 380
Jane quickly returned to the room, as she and April were staying in the same room to take care of her during the pregnancy.
When she entered the room, Dr William was no longer there. April sat on the sofa near the French windows, covered with a blanket, staring blankly at the scenery outside with a gloomy expression.
“Did you finish talking?” Jane’s expression was also not good, but seeing April like this, she still went forward to express her concern.
April snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Jane. Before Jane could ask about their conversation, April burst into tears and threw herself into Jane’s arms.
“Sob… Jane, my heart hurts so much!”
Seeing April like this, Jane could guess the general content of their conversation. It must have been a very heartbreaking talk.
“Sob… Jane, am I so bad that I hurt him with my words? How could I do this!”
“He’s such a good person. On the first day we met, he took me to eat delicious food and didn’t mind my messy eating. He even peeled the shrimp for me and spoke very gently…”
“I was moved by him. I’ve always wanted to find a boy like him and have a sweet and beautiful love story, then… get married, have children, and live a perfect and happy life…”
“I met that person, but we are destined to be apart, and I hurt him so badly.”
Through April’s fragmented words, Jane got a rough idea of their conversation. The words she said must have hurt him deeply, and April was feeling very upset about it.
“It’s alright. Everything will pass, and I’ll be here with you, okay!” Jane hadn’t experienced what April had gone through, so she couldn’t fully empathize, but she had also felt the pain of heartbreak in the past.
At times like this, she didn’t need to do much, just be there for April, listen to her, and let her vent.
“Sob… Jane, I’m so sad… really so sad. Why am I not an ordinary girl? Why can’t I have a complete family…”
April cried with great sadness, tears continuously falling. As her emotions gradually stabilized under Jane’s consolation, she instinctively placed her hand on her slightly protruding belly, a glimmer of motherly love appearing on her face.
“You’re right, I still have a child.” April finally felt a little better.
“Jane, Dr William is a good person, but I don’t deserve him.” April lowered her gaze.
Jane acknowledged that Dr William was a good person, but she disagreed with April’s self–deprecating statement.
“April, you are wonderful. Don’t put yourself down. If you two couldn’t be together, maybe it’s because you weren’t meant to be,” Jane said softly.
“Thank you, Jane.” Having a friend who could accompany her at this moment made April feel much better.
“Don’t thank me. You were there for me when I went through tough times too,” Jane mentioned the past, grateful for April’s company during that time.
Upon hearing this, the two exchanged smiles and chose not to dwell on the past sorrows.
The next day, after a night of rest, their spirits had improved significantly. Jane packed up and took April out for a leisurely stroll.
Since April was pregnant, they canceled the plan to climb Elysian Crest Mountain. Instead, Jane took her to the shores of Luminesa Lake for a leisurely walk.
Luminesa Lake was called a “sea,” but it was actually a large freshwater lake. The water was clear and one could see the fish and stones at the bottom.
In the evening, the two went to the ancient city, ate local specialties, and bought many unique souvenirs. For a while, they forgot many of their worries.
Because they were so comfortable, the two stayed in Eldoria for half a month. During this time, Drake also went abroad to attend Matthew’s wedding. Otherwise, how could he endure half a month without Jane by his side?
Drake had left for a business trip abroad earlier. Jane went to Eldoria to accompany April to relax, and the three little ones were well–behaved and didn’t make trouble. But when Drake attended the wedding, the three little ones became less obedient and insisted on following him.
Zachary knew Matthew because of his father’s friendship. Later, Drake also got to know April through Jane. When he heard that Matthew was getting married, he couldn’t help but think of the two together.
“Daddy, Uncle Matthew and Aunt April have the same last name, are they related?”
Zachary called April “Aunt April,” just like his siblings.
Hearing Zachary’s question, both Zane and Zoe looked at Drake.
Drake didn’t expect Zachary to ask this question. He hesitated for a moment before nodding. “Yes.”
“Wow, they really know each other! Are they siblings?” Zachary was delighted with his own discovery.
“It’s kind of.”
“Why didn’t Aunt April go to Uncle Matthew’s wedding? Instead, she went on a trip with Mommy?” Zachary kept asking.
Now, Drake didn’t know how to answer. If April appeared at Matthew’s wedding, it would probably turn into a scene of disaster.
“That’s an adult’s matter. Kids shouldn’t ask about it,” Drake tapped Zachary’s head lightly, not wanting him to inquire further.
Zachary pouted, feeling dissatisfied, but he didn’t dare to challenge his father’s authority.
Zane and Zoe exchanged glances, feeling a mix of emotions.
After they returned to Silverbourne, April had come to visit once, but she only stayed for a few days before being taken away by a man. They witnessed it themselves and told their mommy about it.
And that man was Matthew. However, what they saw at the time was that Matthew forcibly kissed their mommy and then took her away. Can siblings kiss each other like that?
Chapter 380
Drake didn’t know what was going on in the minds of the two little ones. After arriving at the airport, he took them directly to Matthew’s castle.
As an honored guest, Drake was invited to stay at Matthew’s castle before the wedding, which was a rare privilege. The three little ones followed him into the castle.
The three little ones thought their own villa was already luxurious enough, but when they saw Matthew’s ancient castle, they were amazed.
“Is this the castle where the princess in fairy tales lives? It’s so beautiful.” Zoe sincerely praised.
“It does look good, but our home is still better. This place is like a maze Zachary followed suit.
“That’s because you’re not smart enough,” Zane couldn’t help but take a jab at him.
“Hmph, it’s just that I’m not good at this. Let’s see who’s better at horse riding when we go back.” Zachary raised his proud little head.
After Zachary’s words, Zane fell silent. In terms of sports, he was not as skilled as Zachary. This was the door that Heaven closed while opening another for him.
