The next day, Jane received a call from Richard Jordan, who he sent to follow and investigate Amy Bentley.
“Hello Miss Jane. The person you asked me to follow is now with someone you know.”
“Someone I know?” Jane was puzzled.
“Yes, it appears to be that Mr. Charles Holbrook. He came to the studio to look for you before. I remember him,” Richard Jordan said in a low voice.
Hearing that Amy and Holbrook met and thinking about the pill from Amy and the fact that Holbrook had poisoned her before, realization finally dawned.
“Give me the location. I’ll go there now.”
Richard gave her the address and she rushed over at once.
When she arrived, she found out that it was a fancy and quiet coffee shop. She met the assistant Richard Jordan at the door.
“What’s the current situation?” She asked him immediately.
“They have been inside for a while, they haven’t come out yet.” He quickly replied.
Jane also peered inside the coffee shop, searching the two through the glass. She managed to find Amy Bentley with a serious expression.
Seeing Amy, Jane instantly went into hiding. She has not grasped the entirety of the situation; she should not get caught yet.
She looked into the coffee shop again, and at the corner by the window, saw Charles Holbrook also staring at her direction.
The two of them looked at each other, and Jane had a feeling that he already saw her first and was just sitting there, as if he was waiting for her.
“Jordan, follow Amy and pay attention to her actions.”
She instructed him, looked back at Holbrook in the coffee shop, and decided to meet him in person.
After Jordan and Amy left, she walked inside the shop and headed directly to where Charles Holbrook was sitting.
Seeing Jane’s figure, Holbrook was not at all surprised. Instead, he pushed an untouched cup of coffee across him.
Jane could not figure out why Holbrook was waiting for him.
Jane had no intentions of stalling and so she sat down and looked across at him with mixed
emotions.
After what happened last time, she did not know how to approach him. In terms of his kidnapping and poisoning, she was unable to forgive him, but thinking about the reason why he did it…Jane did not know what to do.
Love really makes you blind and she had been so blinded before, so she really could not blame him.

“What did you and Amy talk about?” She paused before asking him.
Holbrook lifted his head, the same look seen on his face making Jane’s heart hurt for him.
“Will you still believe my words?” He asked without answering her question.
“As long as you’re telling the truth, I will believe it.” Jane replied, seeing how down Holbrook was.
He was surprised when he heard those words. He did not expect for Jane to still trust him.
Then, without hesitation, he explained the reason why he and Amy met. “I was the one who made an appointment to meet her, but there was no other purpose. I just wanted to know a few things.”
“Before I went it, I invested in a pharmaceutical factory that was about to shut down. After I came out, the factory was sold. I inquired about it and learned that the factory fell into her hands, and so. I came here to ask her myself.”
“However, I did not ask anything!” Charles Holbrook said with a helpless shake of his head.
Upon hearing this, Jane’s eyes brightened. So that was it.
If she was still wondering about how Amy managed to grab ahold of poison and threatened her to eat it, then it is clear now.
It seems that she got a pharmaceutical factory and should have also gotten the poison made from the same factory.
“I want to know more about this factory. Can you tell me?” Jane looked at him, speaking slowly.
However, the Holbrook was in a state of hesitation.
“It’s alright if you don’t feel comfortable talking about it.” Although he kidnapped her, he did not owe her anything. Of course, she could not take it for granted that Holbrook told her what he knew.
He came to his sense and shook his head, “It’s not inconvenient, it’s just that my information is not
that clear.”
“The pharmaceutical factory has shook hands with many, yet it has always been in a state of loss- even in my hands. I have always thrown money and never got anything back. Their R&D team is also a mystery and they don’t allow to explore the R&D bases. I’ve invested quite the money and in the end, apart from getting a batch of poisons and antidotes, nothing else was given to us.”
“I’m also very curious about the factory, and now knowing that it fell into Amy Bentley, I felt that things were not that simple. That’s the reason why I met with her, although she did not say anything. He sighed, feeling helpless.
Ever since he lost his position as the CEO of the Holbrook Corporation, he now felt cornered. The Holbrook family refused to see him and he did not have much money, let alone start all over again.
Even if he did have the courage, the Holbrook family would not see him grow strong again.
One could completely describe his situation to be difficult.
Jane also noticed his misery and wanted to say something to help but thought that she might not be able to do so..
Moreover, since she had no feelings for him, she really should not give him another chance.
“Thank you for telling me this. If you need help with anything, you can ask me,” Jane said.

Jane paused at his words and shook her head
“Maybe it hasn’t changed. I just don’t want to feel guilty”
Her change perhaps cannot be seen by other people but Charles Holbrook himself deeply felt it She has long since stopped being that naive and romantic young girl. Now she knew what to do with what she had. The only reason she promised Holbrook was because of the information he told her
