Chapter 68 (a)
Third Person
They are relaxing. Just what was wrong with them that they managed to conduct a tournament and enjoyed it? Don’t they feel threatened at all? I think I need to make them feel the threat that was about to come to them. I can’t wait to see the agonizing look on their faces. They took what was rightfully mine, so I will do the same. My title and my mate, the chance of having my own family. He should have been my son and not his. I should have been the one who would pass the throne to MY SON and NOT HIM!
“My Lord,”
“Are you sure about that?”
“Yes, my Lord. They actually had a mini–tournament in the Crimson Pack and were all enjoying themselves. I don’t think they have any idea about us yet.” Calum, my right–hand man said. He reported to me about what was going on with Matteo and his mate. I had to admit that he had been living a good life, trying to follow what his father had taught him. But I am not going to let him do as he pleases. I had to do something about his calmness and give him a little headache.
“Send a few rogues in the pack. Make sure to give them something they will never forget.”
“Yes, my Lord!” he replied and went out. I don’t know how he managed to get that information, because I don’t remember sending a spy in that pack. But however he does, that is up to him. Gathering information is one of his skills and I admire him for being consistent all the time. As for Matteo, I don’t know why he suddenly acted that
way. According to the report I received, they had found our hideouts around the palace and the pack. They should have been attacking the other one in the east, so why?
I had been planning on taking back what was rightfully mine for years. But I never had a chance to execute it since there was someone who was fighting the palace silently. I wanted to know what that traitor wanted and when I finally knew it, I decided to use him as well. Another greedy advisor was in their way of achieving what they wanted to achieve, so I shouldn’t let that chance pass, right?
I don’t really care about that traitor, but I am not going to allow him to destroy my palace. It was mine and mine alone. He has no right to covet what’s mine. It’s mine and mine alone! After Calum takes care of the task I gave him, I am going to send him to the palace and expose that rascal. Just he wait because I was already done using him. Calum is very efficient too, so it was safe to say that what I asked him to do would be considered done.
After a few hours, he came back with his report. “The rogues were in position and were awaiting orders.”
“Good, now I want you to set up a plan for Ronaldo.”
“Is it time now, my Lord?”
“And make sure that he’s going to suffer.”
“Yes, my Lord,” he replied, and once again left. I have full confidence in him. He is my most loyal follower. After I left the palace, he followed me. He neglected the king’s order to never get associated with me. My father, the previous king, betrayed me. I am his first son but he chose to give his title to Marcus, who had done nothing but say yes to him. He deprived me of my rights and my mate. What had happened was still fresh in my memory, as if it just happened yesterday,
Flashback
“Dad, you have to believe me. I would never do such a thing!” I said, but his ears were close to my plea. He accused me of stealing Marcu’s mate. He said that she was his and that I asked a witch to put a spell on her so she would think that we were fated. But it was actually the truth. SHe’s mine and Marcus was the one who was making up the story. He made my mate believe that she was his. That’s why she was scared of me.
“No more of this nonsense!” dad said. Growing up, I saw how much he favored Marco. I don’t know what I did, but he always hates me and everything that I do. I did everything I could to please him but he pushed me away. Nothing in what I did made him look at me. He only sees Marco and him alone. I sometimes wonder if I was his son.
