Chapter 8
Aliza pov
Seeing people get on the bus I debate to myself if I should try and make a run for it when I hear heavy footsteps behind me.
“You dropped this!” I hear the man say and slowly turn around with my head slightly turned down. Seeing the man standing with his hand towards me and I see him holding Bill’s wallet in his hand, I had forgotten that one where still in my pocket, I should have let it go with the car!
Taking a step closer I reach over and take it from him fast and place it back in my pocket, I didn’t feel it when I dropped it and I have to be careful. His wallet is a quick give away I’m still alive!
“Thank you!” I say and quickly turn around again to make my way over to the bus, seeing the last person get on the bus I take quick steps over and hold my breath. Just wait for someone to grab me and toss me off the bus but no one does!
After I have paid I make my way over to the last seats on the bus and take a seat closest to the window when I sink in my seat and hide behind the seat I’m front of me, holding

my bag tight to my chest when the bus started to move and I try to breathe deep and hold myself together.
Looking out the window when the bus rolls out of the station and start to make its way out of the city, my mind wanders away with me and I can’t help but feel devastated for a long moment. I have no plan for what to do once I get there and a big priority is to find a job as fast as I can and a place to stay!
The bus ride takes a bit over one hour and I get the time to think things through and the night’s event plays inside my head like a movie over and over again, once the bus comes to a stop and I have reached the city I where going to I decide to myself I will never allow myself to think about him ever again. I will accept my fate and put every memory of him away, it won’t do me any good to keep thinking about him and the only night were shared!
Once I’m off the bus in the city I start to look for a place to stay, finding a small inn that looks nice I walk over to the front desk and find an old woman behind it.
“Hi, do you have any room available?” I ask her when I have reached over to her, she gives me a big smile.
“Yes I have!” she says and starts to talk about different things and prices, I will go with the cheapest one for the night. I have a bit of money but need to save as much as I can before I find a job.

“Do you know anywhere they’re hiring?” I Ask her when she hands me the keys.
“Are you looking for any job I know a woman in town who is looking for cleaners, here I can show you where you can find her!” she says and takes out a city map and draws a ring around the building, she shows me where we are right now and where I easily could walk over there. After we have chatted for a moment I thank her and take the key before walking over to my room, I need a quick shower before going over and looking for work.
Can’t show up there all bl**dy and dirty!
I try not to take too long in the shower before I dry myself on the towel and head out to put on some clothes, opening the bag I take out everything she had packed for me and look at the things on the bed. This is all I have!
My whole life is laying on the bed!
I sigh and start to take on some clothes, I’m going to make it even if it’s going to be hard in the beginning.
Wrapping my hair in the towel I walk back to the bathroom and look at myself In the mirror, seeing a red mark on my shoulder where his mark lay before I touch it with my hand.

The area is sensitive and it stings when I touch it, placing my shirt over it I take on the jacket and make sure it can’t be seen until it’s gone completely! Sighing at the situation I take a deep breath and push all my feelings away, if I’m going to make this I have to focus!
Once I’m done drying my hair hang the towel and head out of the bathroom, taking my shoes on I’m as ready as I can be.
My bag I make sure to hide my money in a safe place while I’m away and make sure his wallet is hidden as well. I have to get rid of that one as fast as I can!
Closing the door I head out and start to walk towards where she showed me where I could find work, coming outside on the sidewalk I take my map from my pocket and follow where I’m supposed to go.
Walking by a restaurant my stomach instantly starts to rumble, I haven’t eaten since yesterday and I have completely forgotten it.
Right now I’m walking on autopilot and am completely cut off from all my feelings and needs, for the time being, it’s best to continue this way.
I have to fix my life as best I can!

I have been walking for a while when I come to the right Street and easily find the company she recommended, taking a deep breath before I push the door open and walk inside. Hearing a phone ringing somewhere in the room and there are two desks inside and two women sitting and typing something on their computers one of them lifted their head and look my way.
“Are you looking for work?” the woman says when I take a step inside and let the door close behind me.
“Yes!” I say when she motions for me to come over to her desk and take a seat.
When I reach her desk I take a seat when she folds some papers and places them to the side, she lifts her head and looks me all over.
“New here?” she says and I nod my head yes at her.
“I was recommended here by a woman at the inn I’m staying at, she told me you might be looking for employees!” I say and look at her when she turns to the screen and starts to scroll.
“As of now we don’t have anything but I can register you in the system and give you a call when something comes in!” she says and I feel how my hope to find work drops, I don’t have a phone to start with and can’t take my money to buy

Sighing and are ready to give up here and look somewhere else when the door is pushed open with a bang and a furious woman comes inside and yells at the top of her lungs.
“I’m not f**king going back there! There is something seriously wrong with them! Who eats a raw steak and starts to growl every other minute that something doesn’t fit them! What do they think they are? f**king dogs!” she screams and heads over to the desk where I sit, I already know what they are and among humans, I bet they easily get misunderstood for strange.
“Alright I will look for other work for you, come back here tomorrow and I will try to find something!” she says to the woman who turns on her heels and walks out of the office

Turning my head to the woman I know that job could be perfect for me.
“I can take the job!” I say when she lifts her head and looks
at me.
“You are free to give it a try, but let me warn you! No one has been there more than a week!” she says and starts to write something down on a piece of paper and once she is
