Chapter 3
Darian pov
Arriving at the hotel I walk through the entrance doors with my Beta and Gam*a beside me, we haven’t been back here since we were kids, and today we are supposed to meet the other packs and their Alphas.
“Well looks like we aren’t the last one to arrive!” my beta Chase says when several cars are arriving after us.
“How about you don’t get too drunk tonight! The Alpha meeting is early in the morning” I tell them when we make our way inside the banquet hall, it’s already crowded with people and I know it won’t take long until we are noticed and get swarmed with other packs who want to have an alliance established with our pack.
“How about we hit the bar first!” my Gam*a Jeffrey says when we are inside.
“Sounds good to me!” Chase says and we start to head over to the bar, soft music is being played by a band and a few people are already dancing on the floor. I hate these boring events and just want to get them over with as fast as possible.

“Make me a double whiskey and keep them coming!” I tell the bartender when he starts to pour whiskey into my glass, it would take a big amount of whiskey before I’m getting drunk but it would be nice with something to help me relax a bit. Taking the glass I swipe the drink in one go before I place it down on the disk again, it doesn’t take long until he has filled it once more.
Taking it in my hand I hold it to my lips when my beta speaks up and punch me in my side.
“Look what just walked inside!” he says and I slowly turn around and lean back against the disk with my drink in my hand, I almost drop the glass when I see what he is looking
at!
The most beautiful woman I have ever seen walks inside the hall, dressed in a red long dress that is all too revealing for anyone to not have their minds wandering away. Her dark hair is placed over one of her shoulders and the confidence she has in her steps makes her even more appealing.
I can’t take my eyes off her when my wolf peaks up in my head and is sensing something, I try to speak with him and figure out what’s going on when I see the woman disappear into a crowd of people.
“That woman is something else!” Chase says and I take a sip of my whiskey before answering him.

“Yes, she is!” I say to him and try to look for her but more people arrive at the banquet and she is nowhere to be seen.
“Well, I’m not looking for my mate yet! Want to have a bit more fun before getting trapped!” Chase says when he ogles a woman who walks by like he is a creep, I just roll my eyes at him. These years away he has been with more women than both my gam*a and me together and there seems to be no stopping in the man.
“Didn’t think you were looking for her either!” Jeffrey says to my side while I keep looking out on the dance floor, wanting to see the woman in red again. Scanning the
crowd when my father comes walking over to where we are standing and stops in front of me.
“It’s time to take our seats! We have our table at the first balcony!” he says and I push off the bar and take the last of my whiskey in one go and place the glass down.
“Alright!” I say and we start to walk over to our seats, I hope to get a better view over the other tables and find her again. Arriving by our table I take the seat closest to the railing and start to scan the floor when I see most of the other people are about to find their places.
“Looking for someone?” comes Jeffrey’s voice beside me I don’t find her anywhere and have to turn my attention back to the rest around the table.

“Perhaps!” I just state when some waiters come out with food. During the dinner, I take every opportunity to look around the tables, can’t get the woman out of my head when my eyes land on her again and I almost forget how to breathe for a moment.
“Found her?” Chase says when I keep my eyes locked on her, I hear my father ask something but my wolf keeps disturbing me when I see her in slow motion turn her head, and look my way. When our eyes finally meet my wolf starts to howl in my head and I know we have found our mate!
I’m not able to focus on anything else than her and everyone else fades away when I feel someone pull at my
arm!
“Your father is about to speak to everyone, focus man!” Jeffrey says and I avert my eyes from her for a moment to have him stop pulling at my arm, turning my head back to look at her she is not in her seat and I quickly rise from my chair and start looking around for her. I just found her and I won’t let her slip between my fingers!
Turning toward the entrance I see a bit of her red dress when she disappears out the door, I’m quick to leave my place and start to make my way down the stairs before going out after her.
At this moment I don’t care if I leave right in my father’s speech! He will understand once I tell him I found my mate.

Reaching outside in the hallway I started to look around for her when I see her waiting by the elevators and repeatedly pushing the button, why is she in such a hurry?
I see her turn her head around and when her eyes meet mine she instantly takes off to the stairs instead and quickly takes off her shoes before she starts to run up the stairs in a rush, I love the chase and she won’t get away from me!
Taking large strides over to the stairs I get up the stairs quickly after her with two steps at a time, the closer I gèt her scent hits my nose and I have to take a large inhale to let it fill up my lungs, I have never smelled anything that good before.
Quicken my steps I hear her running further up and once I rush the last steps and make a turn to reach the other stair I see her halt in her track, I guess she already knows there is no point in trying to get away from me.
“Trying to run from me, little mate!” I say and walk up behind her before I place my arm around her waist and pull her small body flat against mine. I hear her shiver in her breath when I slowly start to trace my nose down her cheek until I reach her neck and take a deep breath of her scent.

she places her hand on mine before she tries to get out of my grip.
“I wasn’t! But I have to go right now!” she says and tries to get away when she stumbles a bit in her step, I guess she is a bit intoxicated like I am. Hearing heavy footsteps starting to climb the stairs from the bottom, she freezes in her spot and I guess there is someone she doesn’t want to meet, looking at the door and which floor we are on I see we only have to get up the stairs to reach where I have my suit for the night.
Lifting her in my arms I take the last stair and push the door open before walking right over to my suit to get away and have her all to myself!
“Where are you taking me?” she says when I place her down on her feet and take the card out of my pocket before opening the door. Holding it open I grab her waist and pull her inside before closing it after us, caging her in by the wall I place my finger under her jaw to tilt her head up and look at me.
Her gorgeous eyes hold so many emotions and when my eyes land on her red plumpy lips, every restrain to hold back snapp when I hear a soft gasp leave her lips and I have to taste her!
