He gets inside the driver’s seat, and Liz gets in the front seat as well before he starts the car, and I see one of our cars driving ahead and one behind us. This trip back will have to go fast, I don’t want to encounter any problems on the way.

Walking out with Aliza in my arms, I head straight for my bedroom when I push the door open and walk inside. I carefully place her down on the bed when she stirs and grabs after my arm. I try to let go and take a shower before I come back to her.
“Tell them to stop howling,” she says in her sleep, and I stop to just look at her. No one is howling, and she must be dreaming.
“Tell them,” she says in a determined voice again when her eyes fly open.
