Chapter 8 Never Being Pregnant
Arabella had never seen such a shameless person before. He was full of lascivious thoughts but blamed her. She was stunned for a second. When she returned to her senses, her hatred wildly surged.
Seeing him approaching, she abruptly turned her head and bit his neck with all her remaining strength, refusing to let go. Her teeth sunk deep into his skin, and it was her last fight.
Kenneth groaned in pain, brutally pushed her away, and stretched out to cover his neck. Spreading his palm, he saw red blood. She had mercilessly bitten him.
“How dare you!”

Kenneth was about to scold her, but she had passed out on the polygraph chair. When he had pushed her just now, her head had hit on the screen. So, she fainted.
Seeing this, he thought he was more fragile than a cup.
When he raised his fist to punch her face, he saw tears flowing out of her closed eyes. She looked pitifully vulnerable, and he knew she was not pretending. He narrowed his eyes when his hand froze in mid–air. And he had an inexplicable feeling as if something had heavily hit his heart.
When Andrew walked in and saw the blood on Kenneth’s neck, he immediately exclaimed in concern, “Mr. Lucero, why are you bleeding? I’ll get the medicine kit right away.”
Kenneth wanted to have sex first, so he coldly said, “No need.”

Then, he picked Arabella up from the polygraph chair and went toward his bedroom. While walking, he lowered his head to kiss her. Her lips were sweeter than spring, but he had never told her about it.
Arabella felt pain when waking up in a daze on the bed. When a beam of sunlight came in through the huge window, it illuminated the large European–style bedroom. And the purple curtains added a touch of softness to the room.
Seeing her opening her eyes, Andrew standing aside politely said, “Ms. Snyder, you finally woke up.”
Arabella didn’t speak but silently sat up, feeling tired and
cold.
She looked around this unfamiliar room and realized she was still in Kenneth’s Empire Castle. She remembered her nightmares and how he had tortured her with cold water in the sauna room and knocked her off after the polygraph test.
Kenneth was a devil. And she wondered why she had
encountered such a man.
“Ms. Snyder, would you like something to eat? We have 36 chefs from all over the world who can cook food with different flavors. You can order whatever you want,” Andrew said.
Arabella leaned back on the bedhead with a pale face and hoarsely asked with desperation in her dull eyes, “When will you let me go?”
Hearing this, Andrew sighed, “Mr. Lucero invited you to stay here until you hand over the child.”

He was putting her under house arrest instead of inviting her to stay here! He had repeatedly harmed her. Now, she had lost her freedom! Why had her life suddenly become so miserable?
She still could not remember when she had offended the horrible and disgusting man. He didn’t believe the polygraph test and insisted that she was lying.
Arabella silently sat on the bed. After looking down at the soft duvet on her body for a while, she tried to throw it back to leave but found her hands were strengthless. After being tortured for two days, she was exhausted. Now, she was helpless and even felt tired when breathing. The strong sense of powerlessness frustrated her, so she was overwhelmed by sadness.
After a long time, tears slid down her pale cheeks when she said with difficulty, “You’re going too far. Do you think you can do whatever you want because you have power? How can you imprison me here?”
She was a person instead of an object.
“Ms. Snyder, as long as you hand over…”
“I’ve never had a baby!” Arabella burst into tears and said in a faint voice, “I don’t know why you suddenly came to me.”
Disaster had come like a bolt from the blue.
“Last month, the Lucero family decided to choose a suitable wife for Mr. Lucero, so we need to liquidate his relationships with women. We investigated all the women he dated. And the evidence we found shows you gave birth to a baby. But we can’t find the child.”

She asked, “What evidence?”
“You should know better than me.”
Andrew didn’t explain in detail but said, “Mr. Lucero will not let his biological child live outside.”
“I can go to the hospital and have a medical examination! The doctors will tell you whether I have ever given birth.”
Arabella made a suggestion that humiliated herself. As soon as she finished speaking, her eyes were filled with bitterness. So, she slowly closed her eyes and clenched her fists. She had never done anything wrong, but she had repeatedly compromised.
“Mr. Lucero said he has examined you in person, so you don’t need to go to the hospital,” Andrew said.
He had examined her in person. When the scene in the sauna room popped into her mind again, embarrassment came like a flood.
Arabella bit her lower lip until it became bloodless and said, “I said you guys made a mistake.”
She had never been pregnant.
“Ms. Snyder, maybe you will think I am overconfident. But the chance of us making a mistake is one in ten thousand. After all, Mr. Lucero is powerful and well–informed.”
Seeing her refusing to admit the existence of the child, Andrew gave up and said, “I’ll go downstairs to get you something to eat.”
After he walked out, Arabella was alone in the bedroom.
One in ten thousand. But they had indeed made a mistake!
Reaching out to wipe her tears off, she raised her head and saw a laptop on the desk in front of the purple curtain. She instantly got excited, threw back the duvet, and hurriedly got out of bed.
The pain and weakness made her almost fall, but she bit her lower lip, endured the pain, and walked forward.
Every time she took one step, she hated Kenneth more, thinking he was a beast.
She went to the door, locked it, walked to the desk with difficulty, and turned the laptop on.
While waiting, Arabella was so nervous that her heart beat more violently, and the pain was magnified many times. So, she clenched her fists to keep herself from screaming in pain. And she swore she would return all the pain to Kenneth sooner or later.
After the laptop went on, Arabella was pleasantly surprised to find it connected to the Internet.
