Chapter 10 Life in Captivity
Arabella walked aimlessly inside the extremely luxurious castle, marveling at the paintings adorning the walls along the way.
Kenneth, the richest man in the world, truly lived up to his reputation. These paintings were rare even as reproductions, yet here they were, an extensive collection of genuine artworks.
Only these paintings provided her with a slight sense of comfort in her captive life.
She stood before the wall, gazing at one masterpiece after another, and gradually felt her mood calming. However, a hint of hunger emerged within her due to the endless interrogations from Andrew, the bodyguards, and the psychologists. She hadn’t properly eaten in two days.
Ignoring the two bodyguards following behind, Arabella wandered through the castle, which was as vast and intricate
as a maze.
After circling for a while, she finally found the kitchen.
The kitchen was clean and bright, equipped with state–of–the- art appliances that were twice the size of her entire home. The maids and chefs carried on with their duties, completely
indifferent to her presence.
Arabella remained silent as well, making her way inside and opening the refrigerator to check for ingredients.

There was a designated area for ingredients, with separate refrigerators for vegetables and fresh produce. There were even several tanks containing live fish…
It had been a long time since she had tasted fish soup.
Arabella walked over, picked up a skimming net, and lifted a black fish from the tank. With practiced skill, she descaled and deboned it. With knives that were far superior to those in her own home, she effortlessly sliced through the fish…
She never liked spicy food, so she grabbed a few tomatoes and other ingredients for seasoning. After a little preparation, the aroma of tomato fish soup wafted through the pot.
“Mr. Lucero.”
A synchronized voice suddenly came from outside the door.
Arabella’s heart tightened as she slowly turned around. There stood Kenneth, wearing a loose–fitting thin sweater, walking into the expansive kitchen with a casual and languid
demeanor. He took deliberate steps, his long legs moving with a hint of heaviness.
Probably because he just got up from the bed, his short hair was slightly disheveled, but it did nothing to diminish his handsomeness; if anything, it made him appear even more seductive.
If the countless infatuated admirers of Kenneth were to witness his current state, they might scream in excitement on the spot.

Of course, Arabella would never admit his attractiveness. She only saw his face reflected excessive lust. His dark, intense eyes were a testament to his habitual debauchery, full of desire and lust.
Without lingering, Arabella quickly averted her gaze and picked up a glass of water nearby, taking a sip. Kenneth cast a cold glance in her direction. He saw Arabella standing by the countertop, her lips slightly parted as she drank, her fair neck gracefully arching as she swallowed. The simple act of
drinking water unintentionally emitted a seductive charm that instantly tensed his body.
An unusual heat gradually spread throughout his entire being.
He couldn’t deny that Arabella’s innocent face possessed a fatal allure to him.
Kenneth was not a man who enjoyed restraining himself, but he also never indulged recklessly, especially not with one woman. Since imprisoning her, he hadn’t touched her again and had replaced her with other women for company.
To him, women were all the same.
But weirdly, that didn’t work.
Even the irresistibly sensual Leia failed to arouse his interest when completely undressed. On the other hand, Arabella, with her mere act of drinking water, ignited an overwhelming desire within him.
“It seems that I have been too kind to you. You have the mood to cook here.”
Kenneth coldly remarked, dissatisfied with his intense

reaction to this woman. He took long strides, walking towards her, emanating a scent of women’s perfume.
Arabella frowned, harboring the deepest resentment towards the man who had violated and imprisoned her repeatedly. She mockingly quipped, her lips curling, “Mr. Lucero, didn’t you go off to seek pleasure? How did you appear in the kitchen so quickly? It’s such a short happy night!”
Kenneth quickly understood the mockery in her tone. It was the ultimate insult to a man.
His eyebrows furrowed tightly, and anger surged from the depths of his heart.
Kenneth slammed his hand onto the countertop, lowering his head to glare at her with a furious gaze. Through gritted teeth, he spoke each word with seething resentment, “Short? You know very well how long I can last, don’t you?”
“I don’t.”
“Really? Then let me remind you,” Kenneth said, reaching out to grab her chin.
Arabella was never one to be quick–witted or skilled in verbal attacks. Her sarcastic remark only slipped out in a fit of anger, but now the fire was turning back on herself.
Feeling flustered, she fell silent and turned her face away, moving to the side.
However, Kenneth wouldn’t let her off that easily. He pulled her forcefully in front of him, disregarding the presence of the people in the kitchen. His hand ventured into her clothes, causing Arabella’s face to turn pale in an instant. She

hurriedly pushed his hand away and whispered, “I was wrong, Mr. Lucero.”
After days of being imprisoned, she had learned her lesson and apologizing meant nothing to her.
“Who said that apologizing meant you would be forgiven? You’re so naive!” Kenneth coldly snorted and pressed her against his chest, lifting her stubbornly lowered chin as if he was about to kiss her.
“Mr. Lucero, the food has been served,” came the voice of a maid from behind.
“I’ll deal with you later!”
Upon hearing those words, Kenneth forcefully pushed Arabella away, his voice filled with arrogance, and turned to walk toward the long dining table.
