“My parents, how did they die and who killed them?” I needed to know what the hell was going on.
If I was going to tell Alexander about Antonio’s visit, I needed to be sure that I was not being lied to and from the looks of it, it seemed like I was. Alexander sat up causing me to have to sit up as well.
“Why are you asking that now?” He asked with furrowed brows.
“I just want to know, don’t I have the right to know about my parents?”
“Yeah, of course you do. It’s just…why now?”

“Why not now?” I countered.
He stared at me with a passive expression. “What’s going on with you Bella? You’ve been acting strange.” Is there something I need to know?”
“I just want closure. I miss them, Xander. Especially now that we are having a baby. You have your parents who still love you, I just miss mine and I want to know what happened to them and their killer. Is that so bad?”
He sighed and ran his hand down his hair before he spoke again. “I already told you I took care of the people responsible for your parent’s murder. I don’t want you worrying about it.”

I stared at Alexander for several seconds looking for something, anything that could prove he was innocent. “You are right,” I said to him, “I shouldn’t have brought it up.”
Alexander’s phone rang just then when he was about to say something and he excused himself from our room. I was left with more confusion
and doubt now.
Alexander was hiding something, that much was true, and it scared me that he could actually be responsible for my parents‘ murder. I contemplated calling Chloe again but decided against it. There was no use, she’d probably tell me the same thing and right now what I wanted was the truth.

I woke up the next day with a slight headache and dizziness. I hadn’t slept much last night. I couldn’t. I kept tossing and turning thinking about everything. Alexander had come back to the bedroom later at night and I had pretended to be asleep until I eventually fell asleep.

I glanced around and realized he was already gone. Tired and a little sleepy, I pulled myself off the bed and went straight into the shower.
I had a few meetings and some other business in the pack I had to do. I also had to visit the orphanage today. I was done showering in record time.
I put on a beautiful pink sundress and curled my hair with a curling iron before going downstairs to prepare for the day. “Good morning, Luna.” Lisa and two other maids who were in the kitchen greeted me as soon as I entered.
“Good morning.” I waved, trying my best to look alive when I in fact felt the opposite.

“What’s for breakfast?” I asked. I hadn’t given Lisa any specifics last night on what to make this morning so I wasn’t sure what she had decided to make or if Alexander had requested anything.
“Chicken and waffles ma’am,” Lisa answered.
“Alright,” I said, pleased with her choice.
I walked down to the breakfast bar and took a seat. Alexander and Mason entered the dining hall ten minutes later.
“Hey, honey you are awake.” Alexander walked up to me and kissed my forehead.
“Yeah…” I trailed off with a smile that I hoped looked genuine. It must have been because he sat beside me, grinning like a schoolboy in love.
“You look gorgeous, going somewhere?” He asked.
“Yeah, I have a meeting with some of the pack council and I’m going to the orphanage today.”

“I thought we agreed on no meetings. You need to rest,” He said with a frown.

“I didn’t agree to anything Xander besides the best time for me to be moving around is now. I promise I’ll rest more when I finally turn into a whale.”

Alexander chuckled but didn’t protest any longer. “Alright fine, you win but when you do turn into a whale I don’t want to hear any more arguments,” I nodded and he smiled.
We ate our food mostly in silence with Mason giving reports on something specific I wasn’t paying attention to. Alexander and Mason excused themselves when they were done, leaving me to finish my

meal by myself.
I watched as the guards loaded the truck with groceries, clothing, and toys for the children at the orphanage. The kids were excited to see me after not seeing me in over two weeks.
“Luna, is it true you are having a baby?” A five–year–old girl, Sara asked.
I laughed at her innocence.
“It is.” I nodded. “I am having a baby.
”
Her face fell at my revelation and I cradled her little face in my hands
so she could look up at me. “What’s wrong Sara?” I asked.
“It’s just, if you are having a baby it means you won’t love me anymore.”
My eyes widened at her revelation. “Oh sweetie,” I pulled her into a hug.

“I’ll never stop loving you or any of you,” I said, reassuring the kids who were looking at me with a sad expression. “All of you are my first kids okay and I’ll be sure to bring the baby over to say hi to his big brothers and sister when he’s born,”
Sara grinned, revealing two missing teeth at the bottom of her teeth.

“The kids really love having you here.” One of the newest orphanage staff said to me as we walked around the facility. She was showing me

“I’m glad they do, I love being here. They are in many ways my safe
place and I hope I can be a safe place for them too.”
“That you are.” She smiled.

eyes,
“Hey there, Alexia.”
“Hi!” she waved enthusiastically at me. I picked her up and she giggled as I spun her around.
“How are you Alexia, heard you’ve been sick.”
“I was but I’m all better now because I’m strong.
“Yes, you are, sweetie,” I told her.
I put her down and she handed me a piece of paper and immediately ran in the other direction. I chuckled at her juvenile antics.
“Kids.” The staff said good–naturedly.
I opened the pieces of paper and read;

My heart skipped a beat as I read the sentence again. I spun around looking for Antonio, was he watching me? How was he able to get to Alexia?
“Is everything okay?” The blonde woman asked.
“Yeah, yeah. Did you see where Alexia went?” I asked and she told me she was probably at the playground.

“Huh?” she glanced up at me.
I crouched down to her level to seem less intimidating. “The piece of paper you gave me, who gave it to you?”

She stared at me blankly like she had no idea what I was talking about.
I stood up realizing I looked crazy interrogating a five–year–old. I was going to murder Antonio. He had crossed the line by using a literal kid to get to me and I was not going to forgive him this time.

I made up my mind, I was going to see him tonight but not for the reason he probably thought. I bid the kids goodbye earlier than I intended to and made a mental note to inform Alexander to increase
security in the pack’s orphanage.
“Where are you going?” Alexander asked just as I was about to sneak out of the mansion later that evening. It was 6 pm and I was ready to see Antonio. I had to put a stop to the constant harassment.
“Chloe’s.” I lied.
“Alright, take a few guards with you.” He said then kissed my forehead. “I have some work to do but hopefully you’ll be back in time.

I have a movie night planned out for us.
I nodded. How was I supposed to believe the man was capable of murder when he was so sweet to me?
It was 7:25 p.m. by the time I got to the northern border. There was a tall figure waiting for me just under the tree.
As I got closer, a knot started to form in my stomach. The sight and even the smell of him always brought unimaginable fear into my soul. “Isabella,” Antonio breathed as soon as I got closer to him.
“How dare you?” I gritted out. The anger I had felt earlier came back and replaced the fear that had tried to swallow me just a second ago.
“I’m afraid I don’t know what you mean, Isabella.” He said, tilting his head to the side in question.
I hated him, everything about him made me want to run in the other direction. The way he spoke my name always sounded like he was threatening me and I hated that just by talking he could cause me to shiver in my boots and shake me to the core.
“You know well and good what I’m talking about. Coming to the orphanage and using a child to harass me after harassing me in my home!”

“Oh, that. Well, there was no other way to get your attention. I knew you wouldn’t believe me just by handing you a piece of paper, that’s why I had to employ those means.
“Fuck you, Antonio.” I seethed, boiling with rage for what he had done to me in the past and rage for what he was trying to do now.
“An interesting offer,” he grinned a predatory grin and I backed away from his threatening gaze “but I am no longer interested ”

If eyes could kill, Antonio would be dead. How could someone’s face be so familiar and unfamiliar at the same time? The man had the face of the man I loved but was entirely a different person. A person I despised.
“What do you want, Antonio?” I glared.
“Nothing, I’m only trying to help you.”
“I do not need your help!” I glared.
“Not even if I have proof of your beloved mate being responsible for your parent’s death?”

I don’t think he killed them, I think he may of killed those responsible for killing her parents. If anybody killed her parents it’d be Antonio!!!
