Chapter 206
Darius‘ POV
“Someone or some person behind the king’s identity and their henchmen are threatening to all of us. Even if we look into them, they’re so expert. We won’t be able to get them.” I told both Hardy and Casey.
After that, I stared at each of them.
“While I know that this may sound insane and you may want to go against it. I have a plan that’ll oppress those traitors or force them out. But I need support from both of you to help me support the plan I’m going to tell you two,” I continued to tell them, causing them to put more attention on what I would say.
“I don’t wish to play by the book any longer. In fact, I didn’t even wish to be diplomatic at all because I don’t wish to obey the rules of engagement anymore. After all, those traitors know the law yet they still take advantage of it to make them even more at advantage. After they do this. – they’ll get rid of the Northern Council to put their king on the throne. We can’t let them make that happen,” I calmly told them, but Hardy already frowned at what I said.
“So, what are you planning?” Casey asked me attentively
“In my plan, we’ll get all those traitors that the people who confessed arrested. Then, we’ll declare them to be guilty until they’re proven to be not guilty. It’ll also be done in every region at the same time. That way, they won’t be able to go underground or run away,” I told them of my plan, which was responded to by a nod from Casey.
“That’s a good idea, but the Northern Council would obviously question that. We could say that it was an order from you. Still, you’re not a king,

Lord Hand. You still have to listen to the council. What will we do then?” Casey asked sharply, coming to the reason why I summoned both of them here.
“This is where I need both of you to show your support for me. Since I
know that those people wish to install whoever is behind the king, I made up my mind to bring us back to the old ways when we had three lords and a king.” I explained my plan, but Hardy immediately rose from his seat as he shook his head repeatedly.
“I can’t agree with your idea. Your father, Collier, had done lots of destruction as the Dark Lord. I don’t wish to think the level of destruction that you’ll bring as King,” Hardy immediately said, disagreeing with my proposal
However, I already thought that he would act like this.
“I wouldn’t actually make my plan into realization if it wasn’t needed. Alpha Hardy. But I’m left with no choice here. My wedding in the blue moon will happen in three weeks. I really needed peace. Not only that. our mates are pregnant. Zora even got some threatening cards from the traitors. I beg you, Hardy. I’m very desperate here,” I begged Hardy, but he still shook his head firmly.
“Where would that leave the rest of us? Wiping away a threat only to put a more powerful threat is plain stupid idea,” Hardy insisted because he was looking out for his people.
“Hardy, I won’t end up like my father. If there’s anything I’ve tried to prove for the years I was taking as the Dark Lord, I just want to say that I‘ m nothing like my old man,” I tried to talk him into it, but he stubbornly refused to agree as he kept shaking his head.
“Still, you attacked the south. Not only that, you even sent your brother to attack me for protecting my region and asked for my price. As if that wasn’t satisfying for you, you attacked the south for the second time. You

claimed that we aided the east to attack Gad. Don’t you forget that you attacked the east and took the Alphas of the east’s Lunas, sisters, and daughter away from them. You did all of that as the Dark Lord. I don’t wish to think of what you’ll do to us when you’re a King,” Hardy explained the reason he disagreed to support me by putting me in the bad light, which made me sound very bad.
Nevertheless, that was one–sided.
“The moment you had my father killed, I didn’t attack you, Hardy. After all, I realized that he deserved that. My brother’s attack to the south was out of his own willingness,” I told Hardy while Abel shamefully admitted that as I was being truthful.
Indeed, that was embarrassing for Abel because Hardy managed to beat him. It sent Abel back to the north in a strong embarrassment.
“When I attacked the south because of Gad, I had to attack south because that was what our examination led us to determine that south did it first. Hardy. The council made us assume that you were behind that. As for the she–wolves that we brought from the east, Zora already asked them to return back home. But they refused to do that. Nobody is ever touching them or doing something to these women. For a long time, I didn’t even keep a harem. I’m different from my father, Hardy. While there were five women who gave themselves to me voluntarily as they hoped that I would settle down with one of them someday, it just never happened. When I realized that I wouldn’t marry any of them, I freed them. Don’t you judge me by the rumors you’ve heard, Hardy. Just leave it to me. I’ll leave that out. As for this morning, I already informed my mate that we had to leave. Although I wished to go back, she was the one that stubbornly stood up that I took this route for the sake of our people’s safety. Whoever this person or people is, they’ll be harder to obey compared to me,” I tried to reason with Hardy whose eyes eased up.
The man knew that I was right from his deepest part of his heart. The solution that I had given was just the best. If we kept examining, we

wouldn’t get anything because the people whom we suspected were very slick and evasive.
“What’ll happen to our areas the moment you become king?” Hardy asked, causing me to sigh.
“You’ll still lead your regions, but I’ll also give you seats on the council,” I replied, prompting Hardy’s eyes to be broadened.
One of the king’s most important powers that the lordship didn’t have was creating council seats. By having a seat on the council would improve their status to nobles, they could share their opinions on some issues. For any leading Alpha, that was a dream came true.
“All we have to do is show support that we’ll go back to the old way, then you’ll be the king?” Hardy questioned me again, to which I responded by a nod.
“I’ll also need military support just in case those oppressors come up and try to take over my throne by force,” I immediately added, making the man laugh.
“You already have my support, then,” Hardy finally said in agreement to my proposal as he extended his hand to shake hands with me.
Initially, it made me anxious because this was way too easy. Not only that, I also felt weird for shaking Hardy’s hands. Since I felt so anxious about this, I made up my mind to investigate Hardy later.
“Just to let you know, I’m agreeing to your proposal because the south had also been attacked too. That was why I wasn’t around for most of the games. Three packs in my region were attacked. Obviously, I realized that there was no way the attack would happen if those attackers didn’t have someone who supported them. They made it look like you attacked them, but I knew very well what happened to Jake,” the man confessed, causing me to immediately relax.

If that seemed to be the case, Hardy was in the same position as Casey. Joining me was Hardy’s only chance to stay alive.
“So far, we don’t have any names in your region. But once we gather everyone we have, we’ll very likely get useful information that might bring us to the culprits in the south,” Casey added.
“What if they refuse to talk, Casey?” Hardy asked hesitantly, causing Casey to laugh.
“That’ll be easy, Hardy. Both Zora and I always played this game when both of us tried to overtake the east. We would play a game with the convicts. We would give them rooms to buy their own lives by giving us information. Anyone that gave us helpful information that is accurate will be spared. But anyone that didn’t give us any helpful information or dared to lie before us would be killed. It worked very well on the warriors. Since those people weren’t even warriors, the effect would be much better on them,” Casey easily replied, making me realize that Alpha Casey wasn‘ t as kind as people expected.
The truth was he was just being calm. However, I realized that he had enough of being calm.
