Zora’s POV
I made the decision to have a conversation with Alpha Jake about a few topics while Darius spoke with his officers. I also required the help of Kara and Eloise.
I had certain issues with him that I needed to address. The difficulties would have been quite bad if I had lingered on them. I discussed the poisoning, then after all that had transpired, certain things suddenly made
sense.
Since I got back, I’ve spent the most of my time pondering why somebody would attempt to poison me. I may have passed away if I wasn’t vomiting when pregnant.
Only a tiny bit of the poison entered my circulation because of the vomiting, which helped my body cleanse of it. Since I had identified the reason, it was time to talk to Alpha Jake about it because it was quite delicate.
Nellie, who we encountered on the way to the lounge where Alpha Jake was waiting for us, was a complete mess.
I told Eloise and Kara to go ahead and talk to Nellie while I stayed behind.
They left as I watched them go. They joined Jake in the lounge on my wing as Nellie and I made our way to her room to avoid being overheard.
We had to be extremely cautious because we knew that certain staff members were working for the rebellion and we knew what they intended to do to Nellie.

She started to pace as soon as we reached her room.

“Nellie, you’ve got to keep everything together. We have no idea what these people own or even whether they possess anything at all. If you continue acting in this way, you will make mistakes. I want you to pretend as if nothing has occurred and not testify to anything or get into a furious debate with anyone,” I remarked and went to grip her shoulders. I kept her firm and fixed my gaze on her eyes.
“Nellie, you need to stop acting like this. For the love of the goddess, you’re a Luna. We don’t often act flimsy or give in to pressure. I want you to get the fear and sympathy off your face, then carry yourself proudly as you move throughout the area. Darius gets a lot of things to deal with and your present behavior isn’t helping at all.” With a hint of annoyance. I cautioned her. It must have been my hormones. I’ve been a little too sensitive recently.
“So, what if you broke the law? Nellie, everyone is hiding something. Stop worrying about the worst and help us find the women who work for the organization by lending a hand. Today I will be undertaking a large sweep of the Estate and you will assist me with it.” She widened her eyes as I stated that.
“We appreciate all the assistance we can get,” I informed her, to which she gave a scowl.
“If we arrest them, what must we do to them?” I became angry when she asked.
“The dungeon only has a certain number of cells. Those that are open with their information will be allowed to stay in the cells. Those who aren’t will be put to death right away,” I added, making her eyes widened.
“We aren’t permitted to do that,” she responded, so I could only chuckle.
“So, who will halt us?” I challenged her.

fighting. If they had declared war on us, I would have respected them
more. Then, we can be sure that they are qualified to be a leader. It was a cowardly move to launch this intellectual assault. I intended to teach the Kingman how to rule.
Nellie must have seen my determination because she wiped her dread
away.
“Tyrant style?” she eventually said, so I nodded.
“Are Marcel and Raphael on board?” I replied with a nod as I hoped Darius‘ meeting with them would turn out well.
“What about the regional leaders?” she queried.
“Hardy and Casey will be standing in support, too,” I answered, then Nellie’s lips curved into an evil grin.
“Oh, lovely freedom,” she sighed.
“I despised all of this diplomacy. Nobody ever actually benefited from it. The wolves will receive a hard hand when they need one. This would expedite and simplify the investigation. Making the council ineffective is a wise step. We would escape with all the military backing. It would also push the perp to disclose themselves,” she continued, knowing where Darius and I were moving to.
“I like it,” she said, at that moment her face’s color returned.
Nellie was a knowledgeable individual. She was inevitably going to get away with her misdeeds in these conditions.
“All right, I’ll go get dressed. This morning I skipped taking a shower. I’ll meet you in the lounge,” she remarked, then I walked out.
I made a hasty exit for the lounge. I rubbed my bump as I walked and hoped Casey and Hardy would agree to the plan so we could put a stop to this insanity, even if we didn’t capture them or finish it. It would bring us

the needed peace. A few weeks later came my wedding. So, I wished to enjoy the blue moon ritual at ease and in peace.
When I walked into the lounge, Jake was making jokes while the women laughed.
“Alpha Jake,” I called, as I went for a juice glass on the table.
He nodded at me as I sat down in the chair across from him.
“Luna Zora, thank you for the hospitality,” he kindly remarked, so I grinned back at him.
“You are welcome,” I responded, then sipped my beverage.
“I am happy that you notice we get along well with you,” I responded, but he lost his smile.
He could hear the rage in my voice, so I knew it would be difficult for him to understand because he had done nothing wrong and supported us. Kara and Eloise also stopped to giggle and turned to face me.
“Kara and I had fantastic luck traveling to Brighton. We went there to bring about peace, investigate, and bring the offenders to justice,” I started, so he grimaced in response.
“We risked our lives and respected you. We stayed at your home while you watched us, but we had a good time. The festival was lovely,” I leaned over and remarked.
“I do not have any issues with you, Alpha, and I assume we have come to realize that, but I want you to be truthful with me about specific things,” I stated and he shifted uncomfortably.

He definitely had a lot to think about, but I had to wait for his response in order to reach my conclusions. I was aware that an apple never truly leaves the tree, so I think this was also true of Brighton’s children. It was necessary to figure out his wife’s personality in order to continue.
