Chapter 48 Amy Appeared
The man stared at Isabelle, with a half–smile on his face. “Are you surprised to see me so ordinary?”
She thought, “The rent for this office is not even as expensive as a button on his suit!”
Isabelle looked at him suspiciously.
The man’s smile was deeply hidden. He extended his gentlemanly hand and said. “Please have a seat.”
Isabelle turned around and looked. The only chair in the office had been broken to reveal the sponge.
To be honest, she had never sat on such a bad chair before. What on
earth does he do?
Isabelle sat down, pinching the hem of her skirt. Her slender legs were exposed. She sat with a hint of modesty.
The man looked up and down at her clothes. The pink color
complemented her face like cream. Her long hair fell on her shoulders. with some stray hairs on her forehead. She looked particularly cute and also very sexy today.
Who dressed her up? The man’s intense gaze inexplicably made Isabelle blush.
“Why did you bring me here?”
His gaze finally left Isabelle’s figure and pressed the intercom.

In a short while, the male assistant walked in with a woman who looked like a secretary. She had a beautiful face and a well- proportioned figure, indicating that she was a high–level female secretary. She glanced at Isabelle and then turned her gaze towards the man at the desk, her face turning pale. “Boss…”
The man said coldly. “Carly, where was I on the afternoon of October 1st? Did you answer my phone without permission?”
The female secretary stammered, “You went to the branch office in the neighboring city. After 5 p.m., the emergency meeting was over, and you rested in the lounge. Your phone was left outside…”
Isabelle was taken aback. Did he call her over to explain?
The female secretary’s voice trembled as she spoke. “I saw that the caller ID showed Ms. Spencer. I have admired you for a long time, and I took the liberty to answer the call. Please forgive me!”
The man handled the documents and just pointed at Isabelle.
Isabelle instantly felt that his actions had given her dignity.
Carly bit her lip and walked up to Isabelle, apologizing, “Ms. Spencer, I’m sorry. I was wrong!”
“Why do you call him Mr. L?” Isabelle recalled the voice on the phone. it was indeed Carly. She squinted and asked.
Carly said jealously, “Because I wanted you to misunderstand our intimacy. I heard the boss’s friends calling him Mr. L!”
This also makes sense.
Isabelle looked at Carly, recalling the woman who came to pick up Warren in the car that morning. Were they the same person?

She was unsure.
The man then looked at Isabelle and lazily asked in a low voice, “Ms. Spencer, have you figured it out?”
Isabelle suddenly snapped back to reality and found herself in his cold, empty gaze. He appeared bright and upright, yet disdainful.
Isabelle silently pursed her lips.
The man said coldly. “Sheldon, fire her.”
“Boss!” the female secretary said, “Please give me another chance…”
The assistant took her out.
The office was quiet for a moment.
Isabelle quietly looked up at him.
Isabelle caught him looking at her!
Isabelle coughed and concealed the instant brightness in her eyes, pouting as she said, “Well, I managed to figure things out reluctantly…”
“Who gave you the audacity to be so arrogant in front of me? Ms. Spencer, may I ask if I was still promiscuous?” he raised an eyebrow, sarcastically
Isabelle’s face blushed slightly as she clenched her hands. He was very efficient in his work. This pleased her. However, she still didn’t give in. “I don’t know. I just need to keep a distance from Mr L in my life That way, we won’t cross any boundaries. We won’t argue either”
He stared at her gloomily, as if he was not very happy

The phone rang. He furrowed his brows and dealt with official matters. It seemed that he didn’t have time. He asked his assistant to take
Isabelle home first.
Isabelle walked out of the building, puzzled as it didn’t resemble his office.
At the office on 28th floor, a man stood by the window answering the phone.
A graceful figure walked in with a dignified stride.
After Warren finished the call, he turned around and saw the woman who had arrived. He frowned. “How did you come from the branch office?”
“Warren,” the woman, dressed in professional attire, showed no signs of the fiery nature typically associated with a female secretary. Her demeanor was professional, and her appearance was exceptional. Her eyes. like a clear spring, sparkled with the elegance cultivated by a noble family. She smiled slightly and apologized. “Carly used to be my subordinate here. I never expected her to ruin the relationship between Warren and your wife. I have come to apologize.”
Warren gazed at her, no different from how he looked at any other subordinate, but there was always a hint of intimacy in his eyes.
She was a loyal partner. Her identity was even more secretive. She is now the executive president of the subsidiary company.
He frowned. “You don’t have to blame yourself. Go back and take charge of the company.”
“Yes, Warren,” the woman said obediently, turning around to leave However, she glanced back and teased, “Alex said Mrs Levine is a bit peculiar. And it’s true. Warren even ‘moved‘ the company to this rundown place What did you deceive her about?”

“Go back to work,” Warren said coldly.
The woman nodded respectfully and left.

On the 24th–floor balcony, Carly took a card handed to her by the woman and said, “Thank you, Ms. Watson.”
She was Amy’s confidante. She had no admiration for the boss. It was Amy who made her make the phone call and ask Warren to provoke Isabelle.
Amy respectfully said, “Ms. Watson, I will leave the SJ Group immediately.”
The woman sneered, “Just a little joke. You did well.”
Carly knew she was referring to Isabelle’s provocation.
Amy had not appeared in front of Isabelle yet. Carly was just a scapegoat.
But Warren didn’t suspect anything.
Carly was somewhat resentful. “Over the years, you have arranged all the female secretaries for the company. Warren has never had any women around him, except for this sudden appearance of Isabelle. She has hindered your imminent success plan! Sooner or later, you will reap what you sow.”
This sentence made Amy’s smile freeze on her face. She and Warren used to be… For so many years, she had only focused on this one man, cowering obediently in front of him
Amy looked down, her smile turning cold. “You described it wrong She intercepted him!”

Amy’s fingers clenched.
Underneath the building, Isabelle was about to get in the car.
She subconsciously felt a gaze, as if it was shooting down from upstairs.
She shuddered slightly. Was it an illusion? She felt a mysterious chill down her spine as if someone was staring at her with hostility.
Isabelle frowned and got in the car.
Returning to the villa, she talked to Glenda about what had happened in the afternoon.
“You didn’t know how run–down his company was. It didn’t even have a sign. I searched for a long time and couldn’t find any useful information. He was Mr. L!”
Glenda chuckled, “Silly Mr. L, you were so foolish. It was obvious that he deliberately chose a run–down building to deceive you!”
