Warren took a deep breath. “Maybe they were pretending to be counter–surveillance! They bought the medicine first, then harmed my mother, and managed to escape in front of the police.”
“Warren, I used to think the same way at first.”
Alex looked conflicted. “Tara turned into a vegetable. I hate Isabelle so much. However, as I carefully reflect from an outsider’s perspective, I realize that Isabelle was usually very kind to Tara. They had a good mother–in–law and daughter–in–law relationship. She seems to have no motive for the crime.”
“And today, I heard Sheldon say that Isabelle was highly skilled in medicine. She silently saved Mr. Schweitzer for you, which spared you from imprisonment.”
