Warren kissed gently, while Amy’s pale hands hooked onto his chest, with a smile on her lips.
Isabelle stumbled, as if a bucket of ice had been dropped on her from head to toe.
The cupcake bag in her hand was crumpled by her.
The bag’s ugly shape seemed to mock how naive Isabelle was! She thought that a bag of cupcakes would soften Warren’s heart.
She thought that one night of treatment could make Warren turn around.

Amy caught a glimpse of Isabelle at the door, her face pale.

Amy turned the tables on Isabelle effortlessly with just a few words.
Isabelle knew that Amy was pretending to be innocent, but she couldn’t help but explain. If she didn’t come in to explain, she was well aware that Warren would be very disappointed in her.
But she explained, and Warren may not have believed her.
