Trisha asked in confusion, “Why not just accept? What’s there to hesitate?”
Celeste pursed her lips lightly.
Trisha suddenly realized, “Are you afraid of being on the same stage with Sydney?”
Celeste replied, “I am not afraid, I just don’t like dealing with her.”
“It’s normal. Who wouldn’t be repulsed by her? But think about it, if you go, she’ll be the one who loses out! She always brags about herself, right? Let the audience see a real comparison of skills! Once the show airs, she’ll be furious! Besides, this show is so popular, maybe some director will notice you and even give you a leading role, making you famous overnight.”
Celeste smiled, “Why does everything seem so simple when you talk about it?”
“That’s because I have faith in you. I’m counting on living in a big house with you. Just accept their invitation!”
Celeste sighed, “I think about it. The recording is not until next month, so there’s still plenty of time.”
The next morning, Celeste took the white truffles to Quantum Enterprises to find Liam.
In the three years she had been married to Liam, she had never set foot in this building. She didn’t expect her first visit to be for a
divorce.
Celeste straightened her clothes, took a deep breath, and walked in.

Quantum Enterprises was one of the top companies in J City. The building was located in the most prosperous area, and its high-tech exterior had become a famous landmark in J City. The interior of the building was even more dazzling, with a ceiling reflected people’s shadows.
She averted her cunous gaze and went straight to the reception desk.
“Hello, can you tell me how to get to the general manager’s office?”
The receptionist was a young, fair-skinned guy with a nice voice. “Do you have an appointment?”
Celeste shook her head.
“Sorry, the general manager won’t see guests without an appointment”
Celeste said, “Call him and tell him Celeste is looking for him.”
The receptionist was unsure if she was telling the truth since she was well-dressed, well-mannered, and beautiful. Still, he called to
check.
Before long, the call was disconnected, and the receptionist apologized, “I’m sorry. Mr. Reed said he doesn’t know any Celeste.”
The corner of Celeste’s mouth twitched. Wasn’t it obvious that he didn’t want to see her?
“I’m his wife. Call him again.”
The receptionist looked at her in astonishment, as if to say: You’re his wife, and you can’t even contact him? Who are you trying to fool?
Celeste took out her phone and showed a photo of her and Liam. “Now do you believe me?”
The receptionist apologized with a smile, “Many people have come here with photos claiming to be Mr. Reed’s wife. Yours is the best one yet.”
Celeste helplessly said, Tm serious”
The receptionist still maintained a polite smile.
Taking a deep breath, Celeste tried to call Owen, but no one answered the phone either.
Had these two planned this on purpose?
She looked up at the receptionist, who still had a serious expression on his face.
Alright, Liam, you forced me to do this!
She broke into a smile, looking stunningly beautiful.
“Alright, next time I’ll make an appointment before coming. Can you help me take a few pics? It’s my first time at Quantum, I wanna keep some pictures as a memory.”
The dude couldn’t say no at this point, after all, Quantum’s main goal was to meet the clients’ needs.
Celeste found a nice spot and took off her coat.
In the meeting room
The marketing manager was giving a report, and Liam’s phone beside him buzzed twice.
He took a quick peek – Celeste had sent him a few photos
