She pressed the answer button, but all she heard was a robotic female voice on the other end, reminding her to pay her credit card bill on time.
With no expression on her face, she hung up the phone, raised it as if she wanted to throw it away, but caught it back just before it slipped out of her hand. Then, she turned off the phone and put it in her bag.
Mason, watching her actions, suddenly found them oddly adorable.
He walked over and draped his coat over her shoulders, “Let me take you home.”
“If Liam sent you to take me home, don’t bother. He should pick up his wife himself.” Celeste said.
Although she said she didn’t care, deep down she was sulking.
She was sitting here, not wanting to leave, probably waiting for Liam’s message.
“It’s late, and it’s not safe for a girl to be out alone.” Mason said.
Mason put it gently, but Celeste understood that Liam hadn’t contacted him.
He probably forgot that he had left his wife at the venue.
She turned and asked, “Can you take me to where we parked last time?”
Once in the car, Celeste didn’t speak anymore. She closed her eyes as if she were asleep.
When the car stopped, Mason was going to wait a while before waking her, but she opened her eyes on her own.
“Are we home?” Celeste asked.
“Yeah.” Mason said.
Celeste glanced out the window and returned his coat.
“Thanks.” She got out of the car after saying that.
Mason’s phone rang at that moment.
He looked down at the caller ID and threw the phone aside.
He didn’t leave until Celeste disappeared into the entrance of the residential complex.
Liam looked at the unanswered call, frowned, hung up, and after a moment of thought, called the home landline.
The call was quickly picked up by the nanny at home, “Hello, sir?”
In a deep voice, Liam asked, “Has Celeste returned?”
“Ma’am? Didn’t she go to the party with you?” The nanny said.
Liam didn’t respond, but after a while, he said, “Call me if she comes home.”
After hanging up, he suddenly remembered something and dialed Trisha’s number.
As soon as the call connected, he asked directly, “Is Celeste at your place?”
Trisha seemed to have been woken up from sleep, her tone slightly annoyed, “Mr. Reed, Letti is your wife, and you know best where she is. Why do you always ask me?”
“She’s not at your place?” Liam asked.
“No! If you don’t believe me, come over and look for her yourself. If you find her here, you can sue me for human trafficking! Trisha said annoyedly.

As soon as Trisha hung up, she heard the doorbell.
When she opened the door, she saw Celeste standing outside.
She suddenly thought, would Liam really sue her for human trafficking?
Celeste had come to pick up her clothes-many of her favorite clothes had been left behind when Liam picked her up.
But coming for the clothes at this time was a bit odd, and Liam’s call made the night even more unusual. After Celeste changed her clothes, Trisha asked in a low voice, “Celeste, did you have a fight with Liam?” Celeste looked at her in surprise. She put her dress in her bag, then said indifferently. “Why do you ask?”
