Chapter 137B
Seeing her car parked while she still talks to the guard, I wait for her to turn her head before I try to get her to spot me. She looks to have a
lively chat with the guard before I see him point with his hand in different directions before she turns her head my way, and I try to wave my hand so she will see me.
It takes a moment before she turns her head back to the guard, and I see him wave at her before he starts to walk the other way. Liz starts the car and slowly drives towards me when I see her open the door to the passenger side a bit and roll forward until she comes right beside
- me.
She pushed the door open, and I look at the guard’s back before I quickly get inside the car and move down the seat so he can’t see me from behind. Pulling the door closed, she drives ahead, and I wait to close it completely until we have come out of his sight.
“You can close it,” Liz says, and I look at the rear mirror and see we have moved away from the building and not a guard is in sight. Closing the door properly, she starts to speed down the street until we reach the main road.
“That was close!” I say to her when she turns to the right and starts to head that way.
Yes. I thought for sure we were going to get caught, but I got to know where they have fewer guards standing by the borders,” she says, and I turn my head and look at her.
“He told you that?” I ask her when she drives through the city.
“Not exactly. He told me where most of the guards were stationed, and we will go for the ones they don’t expect any threat. There it will be least guards.” She says when I see her turn the other way and drive out of the city. This way, I know we will reach the old pack house and where the pack grounds used to be.
To the left of it, my old pack lay, and to the right, I know Darian has an alliance with the Alpha, who has his pack grounds close by. I guess that’s the only way for us to go, and it will take some more time to head that way.
“What did you say to not make him suspicious?” I ask her when she turns her head and looks at me.
“That was easy, just said I’m going to see my son,” she says, flashing
me a smile. That’s a good reason to drive this way, and no one will think twice about it.
“That’s good, but any suggestions on how we get by the guards at the borders?” I ask her since we will have that problem ahead of us.
“We will figure it out once we get there!” she says and I sit in deep thought when I pick up my phone from my pocket and make sure I haven’t gotten a new message from them.
Looking at it, there is no notification, and I decide it’s best to turn off the sound so it doesn’t give us away by ringing if we have to try and sneak by the borders.
We drive for a while until we come to the old pack grounds, and Liz slows the car down before she pulls over to the side. She looks out the window, and I follow her eyes until I see what she does.
“That’s a good idea!” I say to her when I see what it is, I know it might be our only chance to sneak past the borders, and this we will take.
“Come on!” she says and turns into the parking lot.
